For me 2004 was just an ordinary year, and the only year that can be 2004.
So it is going to be no option for 2004 in the poll?

I thought there would be a poll. Anyhow, I think 2004 is closer to 2001, at least the later part (post-9/11).

Culturally it was closer to 2001 - it wasn't as "depressing" and money wasn't people's worries (the Iraq war would have been though).

IMO it's a little closer to 2007. I feel like 2001, which was not only mostly a pre-9/11 year but also pre-Myspace, would be very different from 2004 and 2007 when both of those years were Myspace's peak.
