I'm looking at the posts made from when I was a baby, and I just got curious all of a sudden. Lol!  :D

I joined earlier than that. There was a mega board crash in April 2004 so we all had to rejoin.

Also, if you just check poster profiles it won’t show serial delete/joiners such as Jessica, Rice Cube and Midas. Bobby has also been around for quite a few years, though these all post very rarely now.

It also won't show some of the more obvious people who delete and rejoin under different names, although I don't know how far back they go in the first place.

I definitely wasn't posting here in 2004, I was only 6 or 7 years old. I joined this site in 2016. But, I do remember 2004, when I was in kindergarten and first grade. I remember being excited in the summer of 2004 that I was going to have the same teacher in first grade who I had in kindergarten, because I liked having her as my teacher the year before. I was really interested in cars and the new models of cars that were new then. I remember dressing up as a television for Halloween in 2004!  ;D
Of course, I don't have as clear memories of 2004 as more recent years, though the earliest year I can remember at all is probably 2000.

There is some talk that it was UFOs, just like the Great Blackout of 1965, but that may just be a conspiracy theory.  :o

Chucky might have an answer, since he's the one who ran it. 'Tis possible that it the software that ran it wasn't very strong. It did have its share of glitches from time to time. I first posted here in 2003, albeit as a Guest, and noticed that sometimes it was down...and after Chucky restored the site, he would give an explanation as to what happened.

Yep, it wasn't as strong back then. Technology has come a long way since then.
On a similar note...during that span, I was taking courses in Computer Science so I learned a thing or two about software functions and stuff, but to make a long story short, it wasn't the right academic major for me.

Yeah, Disney bought out various organisations and stuff...

Also in that year, I hadn't started going online yet. For one thing, we didn't have it at home.

As for Gmail, I started on there in 2007.

Things started to get tense around here. Yeah, that decadeology crap had a lot to do with it. This person would post thread after thread after thread. It was annoying people because he was flooding ALL the boards with these threads. Finally Chucky had enough and banned him-and banned decadeology. But, he came back again and again and again doing the same thing. Because of that, many people were very suspicious of newbies. We lost a lot of potentially good board members because they were being chased off by people thinking that they COULD have been this guy. Then these same people would cry how the boards were toxic and they were the ones who were making the boards toxic. And many left. After they left, the boards weren't toxic anymore. Hmmm, it is amazing how that happens.  I'm sure some of them would say that Carlos & I were part of the reason this place was toxic. Yeah, I had my disagreements with some of them. And the main issue with Carlos stemmed from a misunderstanding that they never let him explain what he meant. They only thought the worst of him. As much as I miss some of them, others I am very glad they left.

At the time, I was very vocal about all his repetitive threads, and one day, he tried to curb that by simply replying "bump" to older topics I had started, so now all of the sudden it looked like I was spamming with threads.  I told him that wasn't cool, but he didn't seem to understand.  I know he had health issues that contributed to the way he was, but these boards were not the best place for him

Yep, he seems to be on an indefinite hiatus from here. I remember him from the old version of the site.

I wonder what happened to him?  ???

Maxwell Smart is missing in action...  :-\\

I am in contact with him. We last saw each other in 2015. We will probably get together again when the pandemic calms down. I have asked him about coming back but he felt that there were a few people who were just too nasty-and of course those people no longer post here, either.  :-\\  Maybe some day he will come back.
