Subject: Who is speaking at the conventions?
Written By: GWBush2004 on 06/28/04 at 6:26 pm
This probably won't get very many responses but both parties told who is speaking at their conventions today. For the democratic convention we have Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and Edward Kennedy. For the republican national convention we have Rudolph Guliani, Arnold Scwarzenegger, John McCain, and Zell Miller.

IMHO, Zell Miller STINKS, the turncoat!!!

When is the Dem convention?
Around late July something like July 24- July 27 or something like that.
The conventions are probably out of date but they do provide a deadline. The deadline to which someone MUST have picked their vice president by (John Kerry...), also after a convention a candidate can spend no more then 75 million. Plus after a convention the candidate ALWAYS gets a boost, after the democratic one look for John Kerry's poll numbers to go up, and after Bush's convention look for his poll numbers to go up.

The Dems are in Boston! Why'd they have to pick Boston? The city is still undergoing major infrastructural changes, and has the worst traffic problems east of the Mississippi!

Well, I guess they won't notice the extra traffic, then. ;)
Thanks, GWBush.

I know how you feel. The Reps are in NYC in August. The employees of my company are being relocated to other buildings during that week because our building will either be closed or we will have to go through a national security clearance to enter the building (it's right behind Madison Square Garden). People are being advised to take vacation that week. I'm not wasting a week of my vacation for Dubya. The streets will be closed to traffic in a 20 block radius, anyone on foot will have to provide a business related reason for being in the area and Penn Station will be a mess (the Reps wanted it closed altogether, screw the people who have to get to work). The homeless problem has to be cleaned up for their royal arrival as well. After all, how can they lay their precious eyes on people with no homes, another reminder of the many failures of this administration staring them right in the face.ÂÂÂ

I was in NYC during the Democratic convention in 1992. I was working for Jerry Brown. Anyway, the city gave the homeless, well, the bum's rush! You still saw some of them around. That was before the grinning fascist, Rudy G. I'll be they'll do an even better job of it this year!

Oh, they have a massive clean up in mind. Heaven forbid little Georgie should see that this economic turnaround he is so bragging about has not happened here.

Well then you need to open your eyes, on Your World with Neil Cavuto they said that the states that are getting the best of this economic recovery are New York, California, Massachusetts, and New Jersey.

I need to open my eyes? Excuse me, but I LIVE IN NYC! I am well aware of what's going on my own city. This Neil Cavuto (whoever he is) must be living in a fantasy world if he thinks New York is doing any better than they had been.

I'm sorry, and I usually stay away from these topics, mostly keep my opionions to myself but I had to laugh - California isn't seeing any economic recovery and I personally haven't seen where my tax dollars are being spent. I'd love for the the democratic & republican conventions to come to California so maybe they'd clean up the fillthy streets & horrendous homeless problem (I was just stalked & screamed at by a few homeless)
The homeless situation here is the worst I've ever seen anywhereÂÂÂ

Two points...
1. Neil Cavuto lives in New York too.
2. Just because you cannot see it doesn't mean its not there. Are you calling the U.S. department of labor a liar? I'm sure you know more then they do.

Neil Cavuto represents the world of big business and high finance. He doesn't give a tinker's cuss about mine. He's only interested in numbers that support Bush and the Republicans.

Thank you Maxwell, for letting me know who Neil Cavuto is. Only a person who does not live it he real world would make a statement like he did.
Yes, I am calling the US Dept of Labor a liar. I see what's going on with my own eyes. If the Dept is going by company profits as a one sign of economic recovery, they are even more stupid than I thought. If profiits are up, it's because companies have never re hired all the people that were laid off in the past years and months. So, you have 1 person doing the job of 5. Who could not turn big profits in a situation like that? Since you live in Georgia, or wherever you live, I find it hard to believe that you can profess to tell me what is going on in my own city. When I hear of companies hiring instead of laying off, and see friends and relatives who have lost their jobs at least getting calls for interviews, then maybe I'll become a believer. I'm not going to let a bunch of numbers on a piece of paper by the Dept of Labor make me believe what is not happening.

Wow, some real ''if I can't see it, its not there'' type thinking. Look ask yourself two questions, how many people can you name who don't have jobs? Now how many people live in the state of New York? Just how many different places do you see? New York city is very big, and also there are people who live in New York, but not New York city. Macro economics, not mirco economics.

I can name plenty who don't have jobs. Many more that those who do. New York City consists of 5 boroughs, yes I know it's big, I live here. I have yet to meet or hear one person say that their life has improved any since this "rebounded ecomony" has supposedly taken place. I have not seen the 18.5% increase in property tax (yes, I said 18.5%) rolled back since it was put into effect. I have not seen any companies hiring, all I get is more bad news, and not only from people I know, you see it on the news and read it in the newspaper daily. Anyone who lives in New York State has even an even worse prospect of finding a job since most of the jobs that do exist are in Manhattan.
You preaching to me about NY is like me telling you what it's like to live in the state you live in. It makes no sense.

This is just like democrats. When all the jobs were being lost, I saw not ONE signle person out of work, yet the democrats were going ''but the department of labor says.........its proof.'' Now that 1.4 million jobs have been created since August, the department of labor is just a myth and a big lie, funny how things turn?

"Jobs" is a four letter word unto itself. Those guys don't want to break it down into what kind of jobs, where are they, what do they pay, what kind of benefits do they pay or not pay, and so on and so on.
Poor and struggling people are invisible to the Republican business elite who dictate the media voice of this country. They deny deny deny the huge poverty problem that exists in America. When they are ever forced to confront the people left out of the Wall Street glamor economy, they call them "losers," or something.
The Rush Right love the sodbusting, salt-of-the earth Americans of the Heartland--so long as they're LOADED!

You saw not one person out of work WHERE YOU LIVE Your state is not the entire country. Come here, or to any other state that is not basking in the glory of this so called "economic boom" and ask them if they know or have seen anyone out of work. I hope you have a few days to listen to their response because that's the kind of list they would have, one that goes on for days. Maybe alot of people have found work, but it's not here.

What does an out of work person look like? Do they have to be holding "Will work for food" signs? Do they have to belong to some long line of downtrodden men at some government office? What's the dead giveaway?

I see people out of work all the time-waiting to get food at our local food shelf. Is that a myth? I don't think so. These are good decent people. In the last couple of years we have had more families come then ever before-for the FIRST time! I can't tell you how many times I have had, "I was just laid off" or "My husband was laid off."
With all these so-called new jobs, how come in the last month alone-I think we may have broke the record for most families we have had in a months time-and this is only a town of just a little more then 2,000. Those new jobs are not here, that's for sure.
