Subject: Who is John L. Kerry and why did NY give all their Electoral Votes to him?

Written By: GWBush2004 on 12/21/04 at 10:55 am

I thought it was odd when one elector decided to jump ship from John Forbes Kerry and give his one electoral vote to John Edwards instead (meaning Kerry got 251 electoral votes, instead of 252, he loses by a bigger margin.)  But now this, from the "smart" people of New York?  See for yourself:

So, does this mean John F. Kerry didn't get those 31 New York electoral votes?  If so...here are the final results:

George W. Bush: 286 electoral votes.
John F. Kerry: 220 electoral votes.
John L. Kerry: 31 electoral votes.
John Edwards: 1 electoral vote.

Hmm...

If there is any John L. Kerry in Massachusetts, he just got third place in the election and swept New York.

"N.Y. electors pick wrong John Kerry

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Even John Q. Public knows the middle initial of losing presidential candidate John F. Kerry.

But New York's 31 electoral college votes are currently on the books for some guy named John L. Kerry.
State officials acknowledged the mistake Tuesday after the official certificate of vote appeared on the Web site of the National Archives.

The document was sent to officials and archivists in Washington and Albany, as well as Columbia University in New York, before the error was spotted.

"The ballots were correct, but for some reason with this document when it was typed up, nobody caught it in the proofing, including myself," said New York Department of State spokesman Peter Constantakes.

The state is now rushing corrected copies to those who had received the document, Constantakes said.

Also on John Edwards's one electoral vote from Minnesota:

"Vote for Edwards instead of Kerry shocks Minnesota electors

Voting irregularities were few in Minnesota this year -- until it really counted.

Defeated Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry likely is going to get one less electoral vote nationally than he should have -- 251 instead of 252 -- because of an apparent mistake Monday by one of Minnesota's 10 DFL electors.

One of the 10 handwritten ballots cast for president carried the name of vice presidential candidate John Edwards (actually spelled "Ewards" on the ballot) rather than Kerry." -Star Tribune.

--Between the John L. Kerry and the John Edwards vote, Kerry may go from 252 to 220.  The democrats can't even write...idiots.
