Subject: Are Tillman's parents now "Unpatriotic?"

Written By: Im Batman on 05/30/05 at 2:45 pm

Now that we know without any doubt that Randy Tillman was killed by friendly fire and that the military tried to cover this up, Tillman's parents have come out and ripped the military, the war and the administration.

Don't they know any better?

Anyone who dares question anything about the all-mighty Bush is to have their reputation destroyed under a Karl Rove, White House operated, smear campaigned designed to trash  your patriotism and label you as a terrorist sympathizer.

So when does Rove have that daily conference call with the right wing talk show media and The FOX News Channel to destroy the Tillmans credibility?

I say they wait until after Memorial Day to sick Rush, O'Rielly and the rest of the mad dog, slobbering right wing into unleash their venom on the Tillmans

After all, to attack a soldier who gave his life for his country, in addition to his justifiably anguished and outraged parents, would be unpatriotic and unAmerican on Memorial Day.

Eh, they're not gonna dump on Tillman's parents.  They'll say the Tillmans have a right to be angry because their boy got killed.  It's hard to deal with the death of a child, you know, even if he was killed in the line of duty fighting for the liberty of all humanity.  But just because the Tillmans are criticizing the military is no excuse for YOU to open your big sedititious mouth!

Sedition, my friend, is, like vulgatity, in the eyes of the beholder.  Speaking the truth, as you well know, and have done so eloquently here, is NOT sedition.  So, I will open my big mouth every time I see hypocracy, falsehoods, idoiocy, arrogance etc, as I know you will.

I think that's about something all of us on this board have in common.

Heck, as a parent, if one of my boys was killed and the military blatantly LIED to me about how he was killed, you can be darned sure I'm gonna complain.  Call me whatever you want, but I don't like being lied to, especially where my boys are concerned >:(

To me, the more important question is "why were they put in harm's way" to begin with?  "Doing" the Taliban made some sense, but there was no reason to "Do" Iraq.

There wqas a MASH episode where a general lost his son, and came to realize the importance of "other men's sons".  I doubt that Lil' Georgie ever saw that show.
