She safe, she's sound, she's gotta be in shock.

Indeed, I was so relieved to hear this morning Ms. Carroll was set free by her captors!!!

She says she was not threatened or harmed and was treated well. However, I also believe Jill Carroll is in shock.  Anybody would be after such an ordeal.  She was not threatened, except for the times she had to go on video pleading for her life! She was also held in isolated conditions, which creates a sense of unreality and sensory deprivation. Oh yeah, she will have some post-trauma symptoms as the reality of what happened to her starts to seep into her consciousness.  Getting kidnapped and held for ransom for three months can't much fun, even if they are nice to you!

I think Ms. Carroll is quite brave and very tough. She'll pull through. I hope she writes a book, makes a fortune, and takes off on a stellar career.  She deserves it!  After all, she's a UMass journalism alum like me (except she actually went into journalism!).  I'll buy her book and get her to sign it if I can...

Glad she's okay. :)

However, just watch, she'll end up converting to Islam like that British reporter(can't remember her name) who was held hostage by the Taliban, and converted after she was released and came home.

She is safe. However, she may not be very sound. I can't say exactly what will come out over the next few months, but it's sure to rain on the parade!
