Subject: Bill Clinton...

Written By: mach!ne_he@d on 07/26/06 at 12:49 am

Did you vote for him, Did you like him, and would we be better off if he were in his 4th term right now instead of Bush being in his 2nd?

I didn't turn 18 until 2000, so I couldn't vote for him in either of the 2 presidential elections he ran in.

Yeah, I loved Clinton for president...

Who else in the world can be accused of conspiring against your rights by asking the nation's people to be kind to one another?  Who else in the world can be so effective that the opposition has to spend forty million dollars committing felonies while investigating fellatio?   Sure, he was a sideshow, but the economy did well, which is important to the people, and they laughed all the way home because of the GOP-inspired circus on the hill...

Sure, we were worried that he was lagging down the legal system; I know how much he hated to appoint judges, and how desperately the GOP was begging him to get judges to the federal benches  ::)  In fact, the only thing I'm disappointed with in Clinton is that McCaffrey bit with the Drug War.  Of course, that's right up his pattern to: The nation wanted a Drug War.  He gave us a General, who executed so badly that the Drug War will, hopefully, end soon.

   Eight years of orgiastic greed...

All-in-all Clinton gave me everything I asked for.  I've also learned to be careful what I ask for...

  g.o... :)

I voted for Clinton against George HW Bush in 1992.  I wrote in Ralph Nader in 1996 protesting Clinton's positions on NAFTA and so-called "Walfare Reform"  In spite my anger at Clinton in the late '90s (mind you, I always believed his impeachment was a sick disgrace upon the Republicans), I started to miss him as soon as the Supreme Court stole the 2000 election for antipresident Bush!  Hell yeah, I'd vote for him again!

I wouldn't vote Senator Clinton, though. She's ticked me off waaay too many times!

Yeah, the impeachment preceedings in the late '90s were a joke plain and simple. I wasn't old enough to vote from Clinton in either of his elections but considering the alternatives(H.W.Bush and Bob Dole), I undoubtably would've. I will say though that I believe the economic boom in his term had more to do with the dot-com bubble than his actual economic policys.

It's not so much that Clinton was the world's greatest statesman, it's that Bush is an unmitigated disaster in every category you can possibly rate a head of state...and he's getting worse!!! He who has caused more death in the world than any President in the past 30 years now gets all sanctimonious about stem cell research, calling it "murder." At least that's what Tony Snow blurted out the other day. Twisted, psychopathic priorities! Save Schiavo the persistent vegetable, but let 2500 healthy Americans die in an illegal war!  Nero? Caligula? Who the hell is this guy?

You know, and as much as I hated Reagan, at least Reagan could be diplomatic and charming when he met with the heads of other states. Bush acts like a drunken frat boy and makes an ass out of himself...and out of America by proxy!

At this point, Nixon is even looking good.

I agree.  I also say Nixon looked good 20 years ago when Reagan and his goons were getting away with treason during Iran-Contra!

There were some things I didn't agree with Clinton on. However I thought he did a pretty good job of running the country and I admired him for being confident in his own thinking rather and knowing who to listen to and who not to listen to, most of the time anyway.

Yeah, that's one huge difference between Reagan and Bush. Reagan(in this respect like Clinton) could get himself out of alot of bad political situations by simply using charm. He could make a joke about bombing Russia and starting WWIII in a national radio address just months before an election and still win said election by a 49-1 margin in the electorial college. He could get caught up in a massive political scandal at the close of his presidency in Iran-Contra yet leave office with an approval rating upwards of 60%. In alot of ways Clinton was the same way. Bush Sr. wasn't and neither is W.

As far as I'm  concerned Bubba was the best we have had in a long, long time, so hell yes I'd love to see him in the W.H. right now.

I posted a thread a while ago, "I miss Bill Clinton!"  When he was in office, he p*ssed me off most of the time. Sometimes we don't appreciate what we have until it's gone!

Of course, I always thought this was insulting to the chimps. Champanzees are sensitive, inquisitive creatures!

Bush is a joke. But without Reagan, there would be no Bush...

That, and I'm not in the habit of considering drunken, subhuman fratboys to be devious masterminds. I'm not so sure about Ronnie...I can't trust anyone with that sunny a smile...

I loved Clinton. Without him, I wouldn't have been sitting around in elementary school trying to figure out what caused a stain on the blue dress or what oral sex was. Or what exactly they were doing with a cigar...since nobody was willing to tell me  ;D. But, he was a good president otherwise.

I can't prove it, but It looks to me like the Bush family was behind the assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan. We did not realize until 20 years later how dangerous the Bush family is!

Wouldn't surprise me at all. I could see Bush not wanting to wait 4 or 8 years to run for president and still being bitter about the 1980 election and saying "forget this I want to  be President now" ;D

If you can't prove it, why are you telling people?  I can't prove the sky is really pink with yellow polkadots, so I'm not going to go around telling people that the sky is pink with yellow polkadots.  That just makes me look crazy.
