Subject: Bush: "I am the decision maker on Iraq"

Written By: Brian06 on 01/26/07 at 4:06 pm

The President is apparently frustrated with the congressional resistance to his plan to increase the number of troops in Iraq. It really seems like this war is never going to end, they say they'll go back down again at the end of 2007, but I doubt it. They said they were supposed to be lessening the amount of troops by the end of last year, and now they are raising the amount of troops instead.

i was gonna try to switch to "decision-maker tia" for a while but i couldn't find a picture where she looks sufficiently smug to pull it off. strange, as i was under the impression the RfWM tiagallery actually included an example of every expression the human face is capable of making.

i mean, can you believe it? they're gonna have to rip the definition of "hubris" outta the dictionary and start over.

okay, i think i found a good decider tia. steadfast and resolute... though also competent and in control. so dubya is halfway there.

I just have this image in my head with Dubya in the Oval Office with a table with a whole bunch of those green army toys playing war.

Ah who cares anymore.  The guy's a flaming idiot.

A tempting sentiment, if I may say so!

I think Dubya is entering his "bunker" period.  He's lost the war and he's lost his mind.  It's time for the grownups to run things.  Pull the plug.  He'll be able to conduct this fiasco without congressional funding for a while longer, but when he has to turn to congress, they must be resolute.
"Sorry, Mr. President, this is going nowhere, it's time to stop the march of death."

More politically expedient--
Give him everything he wants.  Always say loud and clear, "This is your war, Mr. President, we'll give you all the money you want, so you can go out and win it, because you're the decider!"
That way, when the country is mired knee deep in sh*t in the fall of '08....
Wait a minute, nobody from his Administration is in the running.  Whoever the Republican nominee is, he will blow 20 million dollars distancing himself and his campaign from the war, I mean the invasion/occupation.

I can only hope the GOP nominee won't be a "he," and will be from the Administration.  I hope it's Secretary Rice.  I hope it'll be a Condi-Obama race, or at least a Condi-Hillary race.  No matter how much they lionize Madame Secretary, she'll lose so big they won't even be able to steal it!

I doubt very seriously Dubya plays with those little army men.  He almost choked to death on a pretzel stick, so they aren't giving him anything sharp to play with.  He probably writes all his executive orders in crayon.

*snicker*

That brings to mind that episode of The Simpsons where they move to a perfect town and they put Bart in the "special" class. They have to use crayons and circular sheets of paper so they don't get paper cuts.

All I have to say is "Thank God he's gonna' be gone soon" (although not soon enough :-\\)

Two years is too long. Hopefully, they will get him out before that time (so I'm hoping).

The best friend the militar-industrial complex ever had.  They're not going to let this sweetheart of a deal just slip their hands.  I dread whatever the GOP has up its sleeve for '08.  A rat will do anything to survive.

You should be ashamed of yourself for posting that first pic. It is an insult to the monkeys.  ;)

  "WASHINGTON -
The Democratic-controlled Senate Foreign Relations Committee dismissed  President Bush's plans to increase troops strength in Iraq on Wednesday as "not in the national interest," an unusual wartime repudiation of the commander in chief."

That's well and fine but - Non-binding resolution wtf..?

The only way one can prevent the troop surge is to do something that is politically suicidal.  The point?  Politics...
To grandstand and run their pie holes without actually doing ANYTHING to help.  Craven, cowardly, typical and rather expected groove ;) on...

+1 from me too!  I always said, "Don't ever compare Bush to a chimp.  A chimp is a sensitive, inquisitive creature!"

The parties have different standards.  Clinton lied about a bj, the Republicans impeached him.
Bush, Cheney, and all that lot are committing war crimes. The Democrats propose a nonbinding resolution!

I actually saw Colbert versus O'Reilly.  FOX should have nixed that.  O'Reilly was trying to be a good sport and and trade repartee mano-a-mano, but all his firecrackers were duds!  He just looked like he wanted to deck Colbert the whole time.  In spite of his nine-figure per annum salary (I mean gimme a break) and his ten years of high ratings, Bill is still an insecure little Irish-Catholic boy with unresolved daddy issues!  The guy's ego is soooo fragile!
