Subject: Bush--Presenile Dementia?

I was already aware for some time before reading this that Bush, once upon a time, was a competent, articulate debater and speaker of the English language.  I just assumed it was part of a deliberate effort to dumb down his speech so that he would appeal to more Americans.  I did not consider this from a medical perspective.

If you are skeptical of the idea of Bush pronouncing his words correctly, here is a video:

It's possible.

I think the simpler explanation is Dubya really isn't very bright and the much greater degree of pressure involved in the presidency rendered him a bumbler.

A more remote possibility is his decades of heavy drinking set in motion an irreversible pathology of organic decay (wet brain), which manifests as cognitive slowness and confusion.  They say he stopped drinking at 40 when he found Jesus, but it ain't necessarily so.

It seems to me that worse than his own mental problems, he's given a few to everyone in the country to gives a d@mn. Seriously, is it me, or does there exist a condition called roughly 'caring fatigue' where the US media and the immovable system it represents slowly but surely ruin the sanity of people who wish to understand things and to change them...? What a great thing for the oligarchs, who would be ruined if everyone just suddenly wizened up, that there is an indefatigable source of obstacles which will probably always protect their rule over the United States of America. And what a pity for the rest of the world as well.

What's happened to Tinky Winky's triangle?  Was it shot off in the war? (to nearly quote Tom Lehrer)

No 'cos he didn't go to war.
He woke up after a six day coke-and-booze bender and found a note from it saying it had moved out; it got it's own lawyer and filed for divorce.  See, in Dubya's case, the little head really was smarter than the big head!

Kerry went to war, and from the way he failed to confront those Swift Boat idiots, I think he got a couple of things shot off by Charlie, and I don't mean the things Max Cleland lost!
:P
