Yes, and it only took him two years to figure out that the insurgency was, in fact, not in its last throes at all.
Still a horrible delay of wrong-admitting if you ask me. I imagine that even years from now when it is universally acknowledged that the whole invasion was a mistake, you'll still have Cheney and Rove saying they would have done the same thing all over again.

Cheney is not saying he was "wrong." He's saying he was overly optimistic and gave the stupid Iraqis too much credit. Cheney re-affirms the rectitude of the 2003 invasion. Thus he's saying he got something wrong--hey, we all make mistakes--not that he was morally or strategically wrong; he is right where it counts. That's right, right where it counts!!!
