...except Ohio! It looks like the day that Ohio legalizes gambling is the same chance as Cleveland winning a Championship!

I recall Ohio having a lottery. I remember my ex-mother-in-law buying at least $20 of lottery tickets A DAY!!! I also recall Ohio having race tracks. The first time I ever went to a race track was with my ex in Ohio. If that is not gambling, I don't know what is.

Yes Ohio has the lottery and horse racing, just no casinos. Many states do not allow casinos, so Ohio is far from alone.

What I meant was slots. There's no slot machines or casinos here because Ohio is a backwards state.

Probably not legally but my contact in 'the Falls' has been to some street corner stores that have a machine that are slots and they are trying to decide if this is legal or not..I think they can pay up to $10 but think how often and who is making money if it only pays a little at a time

I don't necessarily think no slots is such a bad thing. In Quebec we have machines similar to slots in just about every bar, and you always see some poor sap just sitting there all night playing, and you just know he's wasting all his money. I don't like slots. Lottery is one thing, but I think otherwise that gambling should be left to Casinos in certain areas. And Bingo, you can't ban bingo or the bingo ladies would rise up in murderous revolt.

Ugh, my GRANDMOTHER used to be addicted to bingo. Every Friday night, like clockwork, her friend would come and pick her up, and they'd go spend three or four hours at the bingo hall. If my grandmother was late walking out the door, her friend would sit out there and honk until she got outside. ::)

I remember the one time my grandfather forgot to give her money to go, so she got pissed off and took a giant salmon someone had given my grandfather (he knew a lot of fisherman) and sold it to the people who worked at the bingo hall for money. Needless to say, my grandfather was NOT happy about this.

My experience with gambling? Meh. I played bingo once and wanted to fall asleep. I've hit up the slot machines at truck stops along the interstate in Nevada. Not impressed. I'm trying to figure out why people waste their money on it.

A bumper sticker back in the dark ages in Texas (before there was ANY gambling there) "Legalize bingo: Keep Grandma off the streets."

My uncle is pretty well off, and there's a lot of ways he could gamble I suppose, but basically his hobby is bingo. He plays 6 nights a week. He loves it. I can respect that. He just likes it.

Come to mention it, I sort of like it as well. It's calm. I have been only a handful of times, and it's a total rip off, but it's something to do. And the food in those Texas bingo halls, man it's awful. So awful, yet SO good. Cheese fries and a Dr. Pepper? Yes sir!
