in fact i was surprised. you have to sorta blow off his references to exterminating the entire nation of afghanistan and his references to "voodoo religion" (i sorta think all religions are a tad voodoo) but you have to admire his conviction that america equals goodness and we have to stand together. and i love how he says twice, "i'm just a guitar player so..." there's definitely an appreciation for the purity of the instrument there.

i dont have much to answer back with except da HULK playing to some damn liberal terrorist-appeasing scandanavian band.

dude that's awesome. :D

someone posted a very smart observation, though, that if this dude had his finger on the button we'd all be dead. and i agreed.

I told you before, if people just let us Americans do what we want to do, there'd be nothing wrong with the world. It's all these 'others' that ruin everything, with their damned marxism and culture!

second one got favorited. that's some sheesh right there. did you see the warner bros one in my sig line? sorta similar in mood, but not working with rocky iv, therefore not working with quite as much of a handicap, and therefore not quite as awesome. damn!

and hulk's always funny. you know, he thinks the jfk assassination was a conspiracy. so propz.

we seem to be coming at it from different perspectives, if for no other reason then that radiohead is pretty much why the 1990s happened. but, you know, it's all good.

If Rocky hadn't beaten Communism in Moscow on Christmas day, nothing would have ever happened again, apart from the world ending of course.

Hey man, don't you dis Radiohead!  They're like the most innovative band since the Beatles, they're influenced by Miles Daivs, Talking Heads, Can, and DJ Shadow!  Do you even know who Krzysztof Penderecki and Olivier Messiaen are?  How about Tristan Tzara or Paul Lansky?  No, you don't, man, you don't frikkn' know! Radiohead is for people who listen with their minds; people with evolved thinking!  They're not just a bunch of nihilistic boozers like the stuff you like, dude.  They're wicked political, like their song 2+2 = 5 is an allusion to George Orwell's "Nineteen Eighty-Four."  Johnny Greenwood re-introduced the whole world to the ondes Martenot, one of the earliest electronic instruments ever devised!  So don't you go around saying Radiohead sucks!

^ Only one problem with the above rant: RADIOHEAD SUCKS!
;)

(But I still give them cred for sampling Paul Lansky and Arthur Kreiger...and for using the ondes Martenot.)

We've had the radiohead discussion. I liked them and continue to think that they're a pretty cool band.. what I get tired of, is the anal rim job that goes along with everything the music magazines say about them. But as we know, most people in the music business are a) pricks and b) have no taste.

Karma +1

Were it not for those pricks with no taste I've been sick of since the age 16, Axl Rose would manage a strip joint on the outskirts of Vegas and Kurt Cobain would have died of a dope overdose in some Tacoma motel room and our ears would have been spared!
:P

well, you know, writing about music is like dancing about architecture. i know a lot of the bloviation surrounding RH is really pretentious but i dont really pay it much mind. the only music that's possible to write effectively about is unlistenable, such as the works of hillary duff. i'd say the critical buzz around hil quite effectively evokes the mood of her music.

anyway. PATRIOTISM, dammit!
