I missed it. I just ate, and bullschitt doesn't agree with my digestive system.

I figured it might be, that's why I didn't watch it.

This was his last one, anyways.

I watched the first few minutes then I shut it off, was making me sick.

I don't blame ya. I don't watch him when I don't need to.

There might be some folks on here who might've watched a good part of it, though.

It was his last one.  I hope there's no reruns.  He obviously either doesn't have a clue as to the "State of the Union" or he needs different speech writers. :P

It's pretty much been the tradition since television began.  It was like that when I was a kid.

If such a thing happened in the UK it would proably only be shown on the two main terrestrial channels (BBC1 and ITV).  BBC two would probably show what would normally be on BBC 1, Channel Four would either have some decent film or a program about sex and Five would have either CSI:Wherever or Law and Order.  Therefore those that wanted to watch it could, and everyone could get with life as normal.

Didn't see it.

Didn't care.

If he mentioned about the Presidential Nominess (which I doubt), maybe I would.

It seems that Cheney and Pelosi are really running the country.

But you forgot a few other things Dubya said: yadda yadda 9/11, blah, blah, Iran.

My thoughts on the speech?  8-P

I wouldn't have listened to this thing even if I had known it was happening. What could he possibly say to fix everything he's done wrong?

Day late and 9 trillion dollars too short, I'm afraid.

One of our state representatives said it best: "Look, after seven years, I don't think what we need is four words: 'more of the same'."

well, they've just got the same answer for everything:

tax cuts
privatization
creation of a security/war economy
dismantling public infrastructure

theyre quite convinced this will create a capitalist utopia -- or at least they claim to be -- so if it doesn't work it must be because they havent done enough of it. much like naomi klein says about milton friedman; when he's confronted with the allegation that unbridled privatization has led to widespread inequity he says the educational system is to blame and if we privatized it, all these problems would be fixed. It’s like a double-or-nothing mentality.

that was the most baffling of all, that he wants the tax cuts to be permanent.  They worked so well so far, look at the runaway success  of the economy.  Recession?  What recession.

The surge is working was one of the other ones.  Basra quieted down much more than the other provinces, because the Brits withdrew, not because they sent in more troops.

She was. When she saw Obama shaking hands with Kennedy, that really made her mad. And she wants to be President?! :o

Capitalist utopia?  More like a thief's paradise! Ms. Klein did a great job of exposing the stated think tank ideology behind it, but the reality behind the facade behind the mask behind the illusion is: Whoo-hooo shoot 'em up, steal anything you can grab!"  This is not capitalism, it's just plunder.

As Chucky just mentioned, Dubya started right off talking about making his atrocious tax cuts permanent, which reveals some of the same intentions for the homefront! Scar-y!!!

But certainly the four agenda items you listed are the themes I heard last night.  These clowns have the same answer to every question.

One of our state representatives said it best: "Look, after seven years, I don't think what we need is four words: 'more of the same'."

We used to call it S.O.S.

Yeah, reruns, what are you gonna do?

I cracked up when Pelosi started reading, like in one of those boring concerts where you read the program over and over again!

It reminds me of those things that they used to sell for when you are driving at night-if your head drops, it will buzz to keep you from falling asleep. I remember seeing a skit on Not Necessarily the News where many members of Congress had them to keep them from falling asleep during a speech-and you hear all the buzzing in the chamber.  :D ;D ;D ;D

And if Hillary wins, Bill will be runing this country...again!

Nah, he'll be running his mouth, but not running the country.  The banks and the military-industrial complex will be running the country if Hillary wins.

I'm pretty sure Hillary will have personnel available to keep him out of her hair.  I've always said for a reasonable sum Hillary can be bought.  Assume that true if she becomes President.
