Subject: McCain Doing The Right Thing

I am very impressed by the fact that McCain is speaking out against dirty tactics of some Repubs.

Maybe this election won't be as dirty as some have been in the past.

That would be wonderful.  How nice would it be to have an election with nothing but their stands on issues rather than all the crap.

That is an astute political move.  The Rovian tactics of the passed have caught up with the repugs and they realize that people are sick and tired of it.  If he is going to win votes from anyone but neanderthals he will have to personally take a stand.  We will have to see, though, if his example is followed.

Rightie radio wingnuts like Cunningham hate McCain to start with.  Dubya only courts them because they set the 'tard talking points that mask his racket.

I would correct McCain on one point, there is nothing disparaging about the name "Hussein."  It means "handsome one."  His parents gave him the name in 1961.

The desperate Right has and will continue to use naked appeals to bigotry and xenophobia against Obama no matter what McCain says about it.

It turns out there are tens of millions of Americans who never heard of Islam before 9/11, thus they associate only 9/11 and terrorism with Islam.  It doesn't matter if Obama is a Christian (these same people are also mistaken in their beliefs about Jesus as well), all that matters is Obama has a funny name and has Islam in his past.
