I don't know if anyone else has posted this. I thought I'd share it since I read about it earlier.

America is so puritanical.  Why are Christians so against "marital aids"?  I could understand getting upset over prostitution.  However for some religious goody goody to tell people they can't buy videos is really being obnoxious.

I'm not sure what a porn store opening up and the rape and murder of that little girl have to do with each other.  One does not cause the other, unless the person who commits the crime is already seriously around the bend.

That said, isn't what those religious freaks doing a form of harassment and privacy violations?  They are taking pictures of people (while they are on private property?) and noting their license plates to post in a public place as a form of embarrassment, not to mention tattling on the truck drivers for being there. ::)

If someone really wanted to push it they could go through Civil Court and sue based on Invasion of Privacy.  That may be quite effective if the person has an attorney who is willing to sue for big bucks.  Most people can't afford to defend themselves legally and pay damages.

Ha ha, I read that - pretty funny.

Basically, this is intrusion and harrassment. Before you know it, the country will end up similar to The Spanish Inquisition.  ;D

LOL!!!

Ingenious.  ;D

Now, don't me wrong. If these establishments are affecting the fabric, general morality and safety of society then maybe I can understand why these people are doing the things they are doing but, in this case (and many others), I think the term 'live and let live' should be applied here.

I find it funny that they actually take pictures of the people going into the store and posting their pics online. That's a lawsuit(as others on here have said) just waiting to happen.

Another thing is the sign they leave for truckers saying that they'll send pictures to their employers. What employer is really gonna care?

And the only reason I'm typin' this post now is 'cause you may know somebody in a similiar situation. Or YOU may be in a similiar situation, and if you're in a situation like that, there's only one thing you can do:

Walk into the parkin' lot of the porno shop whenever you are, just walk in, find the fundies takin' pictures and license plates and all, and say, "Brother --

"You can get anything you want at Alice's Porno Shop."

-- and walk into the shop. You know, if one person, just one person does it, they may think he's really nuts and they won't take pictures of him.

And if two people do it (in harmony... they may thing they're both ******s and they won't take pictures of either of them!  And if THREE people do it! Can you imagine three people walkin' in, singin' a bar of "Alice's Porno Shop" and walkin' out?  They might think it's an ORGANIZATION!

And can you im agine FIFTY people a day?  I said FIFTY people a day, walkin' in, singin' a bar of "Alice's Porno Shop" and walkin' out?  Friends, they may think it's a MOVEMENT, and that's what it is:

THE ALICE'S PORNO SHOP ANTI-PURITANISM MOVEMENT...

and all you gotta do to join is to sing it the next time it comes around on the guitar.

With feelin'.

You can get anything you want at Alice's Porno Shop, (includin' Alice!)
You can get anything you want at Alice's Porno Shop;
Walk right in, it's around the back,
Just a half a mile from the railroad track;
You can get anything you want at Alice's Porno Shop...

Blame it on the porn, blame it on the porn, you'll feel so much better when you blame it on the porn!

That's exactly what that evil coward Ted Bundy tried to do.  He declared before he was zapped by Old Sparky that he killed 30+ women and pornography drove him to do it!

As for those two nice Christian ladies minding everybody else's business:  I got something y'all can take a picture of RIGHT HERE!

Just because you have the legal right to do something doesn't make it a good idea or morally right either. That's basically how I feel about porn. Hey it's not illegal to be an a*shole either, but that doesn't mean you should be one, of course. Same concept.

I do think they're crossing the line by intruding on property and violating people's privacy, but I can see their point. It's really up to a city or town deciding they do or don't want a certain business there.

It's just the way some towns don't opt to have fast food places or, say apartments. For instance that's how it was in Sausalito (just north of San Francisco, where I lived once in the mid 80s and my dad again had a place there in 1994). It's a quaint, small townish place and I guess they had some kind of regulations for awhile (although ironically they actually did build a huge shopping center with tons of stuff in it not long after he moved from there).

It wasn't that the pre-late '90s Sausalito was calling for a ban on McDonalds or anything, it was just that THEY didn't want one in their town, and that was their right. Same thing applies here. It's also like how Giuliani cleaned up New York City as mayor in the '90s by shutting down sex shops and such.

Karma for recent mentions of H.L. Menchken and George Orwell.

One time when we were chatting it up in his office, the chair of the journalism department said he had "a hardon for Mencken," which kinda grossed me out.  I mean this guy looked like Wilfred Brimley and we were in close quarters!

Dennis Miller and P.J. O'Rourke seem to think they're the new Menckens, but those guys are doojbags!

Anyway, I knew this guy who managed managed a porn store.  Larry didn't dig porn more than usual, it was just a gig.  The "Puritans" as he liked to call them would routinely vanalize the store's sign and dump human excrement into the overnight return box.  Hey, here's lookin' atcha! I like pictures of naked ladies and you like to play with your own doo-doo, some people like vanilla other people like rocky road, y'know?

This kind of thing was mocked on the sitcom Father Ted, the episode was called 'The Passion of St Tibulus' and it featured two priests chaining themselves to a railing outside a cinema in protest of an 'art film' that came to the island, lol.

I think the best part of the story was the fact that people were throwing sex toys into these Hoilier than thou peoples yards.
Good for them. Those women have no right to infringe on the patrons right to purchase porn or sex realted playthings.

Well, when you get the religious whackos out there, they don't think it's their business; they think it's God's business--and their business to mind God's business because even the Almighty Creator needs a little help around the store.

Then you've got the antipornography militants who believe pornography is violent and dangerous to those who participate in it, distribute it, vend it, or buy it and therefore it's their business to help you look out for your own well-being and the well-being of others.  This is almost plausible from the liberal prospective, but a liberal must ask who shall determine "well-being."  The killer is the "free will" thing.

Then you've got the folks who are concerned for the children.  I'd agree with them perhaps if the pr0n shop was in the same neighborhood as the school and the church, however not if it's off some godforsaken highway exit.

Then you've got the guys and gals who are venting frustration because other peope are getting some when they're not!
http://www.inthe00s.com/smile/07/monster.gif

And I think that sums it up for the kinds of people who would be writing down your license plate number in a pr0n shop parking lot.

Its like the guy on MSNBC I saw filming street prostitutes and johns.  That guy's going to get his head blown off!

Well, the Valby track would make great audio for any such movie...

Probably the best Rule 34 I've ever seen was in the form of a set of softcore pr0n.  Youre basic Playboy-rated ("barely full frontal nudity") photoshoot of an attractive gal (un)dressed in the American Flag, with a backdrop of Bush/Cheney, Kerry/Edwards posters.  I think she swang both ways, though, because she seemed to enjoy licking the bush.  (the Bush sign, you fools, get your minds outa the gutter! :-)

I probably oughta find the PG-13 rated pics of it, photoshop the posters to the '08 candidates, turn it into a slide show, flashing pictures to the beat of the Valby tune, and up it to YouTube.  Then again, by rule 35, someone else probably has.
