That couldn't have been the "news." That sounded too much like a bunch of idiots who didn't know wtf they are talking about. Oh yeah, that is the definition of Faux News.

Oh, that's just Greg Gutfeld's show.  He's the right-wing's idea of a comedian.

The premise is deceptive.  The Canadian government is not going to send its entire armed forces on a year's vacation.  Gutfeld has since wimped out on his own bluster and apologised to Canadian defense minister Peter MacKay, who called Gutfeld's remarks "disgusting" and "crass."

The message is Faux News' usual: Canadians and Europeans are a bunch of sissy socialists who would be overrun by Huns if the strong arm of Uncle Sam didn't protect them.

Of course, when the sissy socialists in Canada send three thousand troops to Afghanistan to help with a war that's our baby, an American commentator might say something like, oh, I don't know, "Thank you"?  Would that be so hard to do?

Fox Noise is a big joke.  Canadian's should consider the source.  Canada has a lot more going for itself than America.  Someone's always going to try and portray Canada as a bunch of sissy because they think America is the only Military in North America.  Pathetic really. :P

You'd have to fire everybody at FOX by that standard!

Funny thing is, the US doesn't have an army either because they're all deployed overseas! Heck, the Saskatoon Dragoons could walk right in, and then we Americans can say hello to our new Canadian overlords!  :D

Mutant Dragoon, are you friendly?
No way, eh?

:D

Christ. Just when you think Fox News couldn't possibly get any stupider... ::)

I want to apologize to Canada too. Not all of us Americans are jerks. At least half of us hate the attitude expressed in that video, and we do remember how bravely your men have fought in past wars. (Juno Beach, anyone?)

Personally I think it's Un-American. They have done more damage and caused more division between our allies than any enemy could.

It's the "America is greater than anyone or anything" attitude.  Funny how when other countries do it America bitches about it.

I'm actually quite surprised on how outraged everyone seems to be about it. I wouldn't think people were paying that much attention.

This is to be expected from the propaganda machine of Fox 'News'. It's not the first time an American 24hr news network has taken petty shots at Canada, and it won't be the last time.

However, I hope this will get people thinking about the gaps in Canada's defence forces. We don't want to be seen as relying on a foreign country to defend us in a possible attack. And far beyond that, we have to think about asserting our sovereignty over the Arctic, which is becoming more accessible every year.

The United States, under the Bush administration, repeated time and again that it did not recognise Canada's sovereignty over the Northwest Passage, and that they considered it international waters. In my opinion that is a very foolish position to take. Why would the US, who has no legitimate claim over the area itself, want to see the area become some vague international territory freely accessible to anyone at any time, when they could entrust it to their closest allies who will never deny them access to it? The Russians have already begun staking claims in the Arctic and asserting their sovereignty over their portion, and if Canada doesn't do the same we will soon see them arrogating territory and waters which do not belong to them but to us.

The Passage is clearly Canadian territory. If the Obama administration has any sense at all, they will recognise Canadian sovereignty over the area sooner than later, otherwise have to deal either with what could become a nasty diplomatic dispute between neighbours, or with having to ask the less friendly Russians for permission every time they want to enter the territory instead of having to ask their best friends.

If we Canucks have any sense, we will not procrastinate any further in increasing the presence of the Navy in that region to assert our control over it. In any case, if there were ever an environmental disaster or a heinous crime in those waters, who do you think would have to clean it up? It certainly won't be the Russians or the Americans. It will be good old Canada.

We do consider the source, we know about Fox News. They have since apologized...
Every country somewhere has a bunch of idiots who say something stupid.
Most of our friends won't hate and don't hate Americans just because of the actions of a few idiots.
But if America offends us again, we'll get 2...no wait..all three of our tanks to attack you  :D

haha

These guys host a comedy show.  It is not a news show any more then the ones found on Comedy Central are news shows.

But you have to admit, poking fun at our Northern neighbors can be enjoyable.  After all, a song a few years ago was up for an Oscar named "Blame Canada".  And I did a bit of that myself not to long ago (even accusing them of terrorism).

But some people just can't seem to seperate "news" from "satire".

Those idiots aren't clever enough to satirise. They were just being obnoxious and everyone knows it.
