The neocon styled candidate that is backed by Sarah Palin is of course not the one to drop out of the race.  The RNC is now throwing their weight and support behind the "conservative party" candidate.

It's traditionally a very conservative area, so the Dem losing this contest isn't really going to be any kind of bell-weather on the national scene.  It was however interesting to see the neocons challenging their party to go more "hardcore".

I agree with Carlos-it is too bad she dropped out. I do give her credit for see the "big picture" and doing what is right for the party rather than being in it for herself (like many candidates are)-even though it is not MY party.  Personally, I think she has more right to this race than the conservative candidate because he doesn't even live in the district.  :o :o :o

nice to see the carpetbagger lost... the irony of a Southern party sending a candidate to somewhere he didn't live in the North in an attempt to win a seat is probably lost on them.
