Subject: "Prepare for War" billboards to start popping up?

A new billboard off of Interstate 70 in Missouri provides a short “citizens guide to REVOLUTION of a corrupt government” and issues a call to “PREPARE FOR WAR.”

This billboard replaces one that warned that the socialist “Obama-Nation” is “coming for you.” It’s unclear who the owner of the billboard is, but the first one was the work of a “Missouri businessman.”

While it’s unclear who owns it, the Lafayette County Republican Central Committee seems to endorse it.

I think we (on the Liberal side) should start stocking up on guns and ammo as well. It's only a matter of time before some deranged righty who thinks all Democrats or liberals are socialists goes on a shooting spree.

The town hall shooting, was the closet we got to it. One day, there will a crazy, asswipe, who will declare open war on Democrats and/or Liberals, and he'll be declared a "hero" by the far right or Republicians.

Be afraid, be very, very afraid.

Hey, you come out of those up-tempo primary seasons, man...

(For anyone who doesn't get the reference... And I'm claiming exemption on the grounds that Negativland has released the work on their own site.)

The bottom "Live Free or Die" is the motto of the New Hamshire.  I've always said it should be "Live For Free or Die"  The people of New Hampshire love to put the hate on Massachusetts, until they need jobs, medical care, decent public schools, shopping other than WalMart, or night life beyond Jello shots behind the closed down A&P.

Ouch.

I picked up on the NH motto also. Being a neighbor of NH, I hear ya. When I lived in the Brattleboro area (just across the Conn. River from NH), it seems that many from NH were on THIS side of the river-including holding jobs on THIS side. You can travel through Brattleboro and see all the NH cars but if you cross the river, you see very few VT cars. And of course there is a WalMart just on the other side of the River-unfortunately, you do see VT cars there.

You know, it's only a matter of time before someone takes all this talk of "prepare for war", "Obama is a communist who wants death panels to kill old people, "Obama wants to intentionally destroy this country", "Obama stole the 2008 election with Acorn" (a surprisingly large number of Republicans belive this), etc. and decides to take matters into their own hands and try to assassinate Obama.  Words have consequences.

Seriously, if you're going to criticize Obama, criticize him realistically.  Don't bring up nonsense about death panels, communism/fascism, birth certificates, etc.  There are things to criticize about Obama that don't involve radical claims.

Hey, you come out of those up-tempo primary seasons, man...

Negativland wasn't the first to get the Casey tapes, Don Imus and Howard Stern had them first, but it took Negativland to turn them into a work of art.  I used to listen to ATF Casey's Coast-to-Coast every week when I was a kid, so it's all the funnier for me.  It's that voice, that mid-western nice voice saying "Karen writes, Casey, couldja please play You Light Up My Life for my brother Roger stationed in Guam..."  It's like if they had tapes of Mister Rogers throwing cuss-out jag!

"This is ponderous, man, f**kin' ponderous..."

Night life? True Granite Staters prefer a case of Bud Light and a bug zapper!

Anyway, no sales tax in NH, I always thought the state motto should be:
"Beer, butts, bets, and booze."

And for northern NH, the motto should be:
"Huh?"

I'm so off-topic, man.  Sorry about that!

Actually, I had to modify it.  It used to be:
"Beer, butts, bets, booze, and tattoos"
Then they legalized tattoo parlors in Massachusetts.  Salem, NH, was the tattoo capital for quite a while.  Speaking of Salem, I couldn't work "fireworks" in there, it breaks about the rhythm.

Amen.

I think there should be a ten percent Mass tax on NH residents who work in Massachusetts.  It wouldn't hurt Mass. at all (where else will these fleabags work?) and it would help pay for projects they tend to need (like the Route 3 expansion).
