Subject: If the Republican Candidate Was a Woman

Written By: danootaandme on 01/16/10 at 4:05 pm

This is Scott Brown, the Republican Senatorial Candidate for Massachusetts, posing for Cosmo in 1982 in a sexiest man issue.  How far would he have gotten if he was a woman?  What would the Republicans have said if he was a Democrat?  This has been out there for many months, but the Dems have declined to make it an issue.

Pants on the ground
Pants on the ground
Lookin' Like a fool
With his pants on the ground!

Hands cover up
Is he wearin' a cup?
Looking like a cool cat
Pull 'em up!

If he had been a woman giving a full frontal(it is my understanding it was cleaned up for the internet) in a magazine you bet your a$$ there would be dirt dragging all over the floor.  My bet is that you would have jumped into the quagmire.

Yeah, there's definitely a double standard involved when it comes to gender and politics.

Brown not only posed nude for Cosmo, he boasts of it.

Now, supposing Coakely's college boyfriend snapped some topless pics of her in 1975.  If he had a grudge, he could retrieve them from his sock drawer and post them on the Internet.  That alone would spoil her chances of becoming a U.S. senator.

Hence the double standard.

you're kidding right?  anything dealing with pictures of a woman semi-clothed would be front page news if they were in politics.

They did the right thing because it is not an issue.

"What would the Republicans have said if he was a Democrat?"

"I'd like to turn that boy Republican"

Wonder what Brown would say if it was one of his daughters....actually, I get the feeling he just might like it.

Brown is posing the same way Burt Reynolds was posing when he did Cosmo!

Reynolds: Yeah, I'm naked. It's funny 'cause I have no clothes!

I happen to like a little beefcake once in awhile-and that one isn't bad. (Sorry, Honey.) That being said, yeah, it is double standard, that's for sure. When a woman does it, she is a slut. But if a man does it, he's a stud.  ::)
