Not sure, but it has been renewed for another season, after this one.

I say, good for Matt and Trey for poking fun at this.

Radical Muslims are a bunch of crybabies anyway.

A Statement from Matt and Trey

In the 14 years we've been doing South Park we have never done a show that we couldn't stand behind. We delivered our version of the show to Comedy Central and they made a determination to alter the episode. It wasn't some meta-joke on our part. Comedy Central added the bleeps. In fact, Kyle's customary final speech was about intimidation and fear. It didn't mention Muhammad at all but it got bleeped too. We'll be back next week with a whole new show about something completely different and we'll see what happens to it.

Personally I thought it was funnier with the censor beeps...

South Park set a trap and that Muslim fundamentalist group fell right into it.  They depicted the Buddha snorting cocaine.  Where are the Buddhist avengers screaming for blood?  Meanwhile, SP has been forced via Muslim intimidation to remove 30 seconds of dialog from the episode, which itself was a spoof on Muslim intimidation.

I've been a South Park fan from the start, but the show's jumped the shark.  As long as they get the ratings, Matt and Trey will get renewed, but their best days are behind them.  They still write some good sketches, but the show's run its course.  Same thing happened to the Simpsons and is happening to Family Guy.

I dunno.  200 and 201 were for the fans - and were primarily a "find the references to earlier episodes" shows.  The formula's pretty well-established, but what's so wrong with that?

Personally, I got a kick out of 201.  The first few dozen bleepings of the name of CENSORED being followed by the line (when it was revealed that the guy in the bear suit was merely Santa Claus) "Why would we actually have it be MCENSOREDd, you fCENSOREDg idiot?" pretty much hit it on the nose.  When a religion forbids the name of its Prophet to be mentioned, it turn its Prophet's name into nothing more than any other obscenity.

Double Irony Points:  Comedy Central caves anyway.

Triple Irony Points:  The whole point, from Some Religion Of Peace That Shall Not Be Named's point of view, of the prohibition against depicting CENSORED, was to prevent people from idolizing CENSORED's image.  In other words, CENSORED himself didn't want his image to be taken that seriously.

Quadruple Irony Points:  I still say it was planned from the get-go.  TCENm cSOREDe, empowered by CENSORED's goo, appeared as nothing more than a black bar with a "CENSORED" label on it.  As long as the CENSORED label covered him, nobody could make fun of him.  Even the Scilons didn't threaten to sue.

Infinite Irony Regress:  Yep, for once, even the fracking Scilons were more sane than That Religion Of Peace That Shall Not Be Named.

Moral of the Story: CENSORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRED

Well, if it does get cancelled, I would hope it wouldn't be to appease a group like this.  That would set a terrible precedent.

"South Park" is a show that they say 'Nothing is sacred'.

Parker and Stone though...should NEVER step into the Middle East.

Personally, I think we should offend extremist Muslims every chance we get.  I also think we should offend every other extremist as well.

All extremists need to be put in their places, and when they lash out, they need to be eliminated.

I guess that makes me an extremist against extremists, but that's really the only kind of acceptable extremism in a free society.

Reminds me of my favorite bumper sticker:

"Shoot all extremists!"
