Apparently, even if you are a top ranking soldier in the army, you can't have a sexual relationship, with an another soldier.

This is not all that surprising, and the Canadians seem to be handling this the same way we Yanks do.

First off, the Brigadier General is a married man.  So parrtying with ANYBODY other than his wife would be considered both adultery and conduct unbecoming an officer, both prosecutable offenses in the US military.

Secondly, as an officer he is not generally permitted to be fraternizing with somebody who is in his chain of command.  And the Canadian military has a prohibition against sexual fraternization between any two (or more, I guess) deployed military personnel, not very unusual.

Even if he were not the top military commander in the theatre, he'd still be in deep trouble.

Its kinda interesting that the General is also in trouble for, *ahem* "firing his weapon" accidentally on the Kanahar military base back in March.  :o  According to the news article, the fine for that offense was quite "stiff".  ;)
