Beaten to the punch!  Well, if the owner of the board wants to play that card...

(PROTIP: If you don't get the joke, you probably don't want to visit that website.  Really.  I want you to LIVE, DAMN YOU, LIVE, but not that much.)

And Operation Earl Grey hadn't even started yet.  I can't wait for 2012 :)

(But for those of you on the right - yup, turnabout was fair play.  Back in the early days of Gulf War II, Protest Warrior was the first to do this sort of protest infiltration, right down to imitating the font choices and poster layouts of the International Socialists.  All's fair in love, war, and protest.  Nobody said the First Amendment was easy, but I think the Founders would be proud - if I could pick one word to describe "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness", that word would be "fun".)

Call me Agent Orange!

When you said you'd "missed it by that much", I didn't think it was as close as 60 nanometers.

If you take enough Orange Sunshine you can study the wavelengths of the color spectrum with your naked eyes!  Just be careful not to do it with your naked body standing in the middle of the Interstate!

..and their mobilization of the far East with Operation Lapsang Souchong?

Anyone want to do a mock-up of one of those LemonParty dudes with a deerstalker on preparing to take one of his fellows up the Khyber?  (No prizes for guessing the punchline...)

Eeaghhh... You really should have mentioned that lemon party site was NSFW. I opened it with a bunch of other people around. Luckily, I don't think any of them noticed it.  ;D

Isn't that the Tea Party that's already made? (I can see Glen Beck as The Mad Hatter).

Put down the tea bags, there is another sheriff in town

www.coffeepartyusa.com/

The Coffee Party Movement gives voice to Americans who want to see cooperation in government. We recognize that the federal government is not the enemy of the people, but the expression of our collective will, and that we must participate in the democratic process in order to address the challenges that we face as Americans. As voters and grassroots volunteers, we will support leaders who work toward positive solutions, and hold accountable those who obstruct them.

At least the guy picking the beans has a job so I can get my Starbucks and look at the want-ads every morning.

Buy GREEN MOUNTAIN COFFEE!!!!  :D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Yeah I know, gotta give them a plug again. For those of you who may wonder why someone who doesn't drink coffee always has to plug Green Mountain Coffee, it really is a great company-very socially responsible. Practices Fair Trade. I also heard from coffee drinkers that they do make a GREAT cup of coffee. And they are from VERMONT!!!! And besides, I own stock in the company.   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ok, now I went totally off topic. Back to making fun of the Tea Party.

Indeed, Cat, you can get Green Mountain lots of places in the five-college area.  They're not only a conscientious company, but it's a damn fine cup o' joe!

You poor bastard :)  It's all fun and games until someone wants to gouge their eyes out.

(Seriously, I thought everyone knew!  Well, welcome to the funny side of the in-joke, and sorry for the collateral damage.  :)

Now, just imagine your reaction, multiplied by a thousand people who don't even suspect that that it might have been an in-joke, and know that your sacrifice was not in vain.

One of these days, some hardcore Internet-detached person is going to imagine that a Democratic hacker mafia that hacked the Lemon Party's website, and nobody's going to stop him from convincing his even further-detached-from-the-Internet boss to run with the story...  It's all fun and games until someone wants to gouge their eyes out, but it's only when it goes past that point that it can become downright hilarious.

I work at the sort of organization where "How do you know that?" can be legitimately answered with "The Internet is not only weirder than we imagine, it's weirder than we can imagine."  But if I worked at the sort of organization where nobody above me got the joke... would I really want to let on that I got the joke?  Hell, no.  Let everybody find out the hard way.  If nobody rings the alarm bell, nobody takes the blame, and the alarm-ringer doesn't have to explain how he knows it's a joke, let alone why he thinks it's a joke.
