Subject: Another Reason the Dems Got Creamed in the Election

Written By: LyricBoy on 11/28/10 at 8:13 am

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/40357872/ns/politics-capitol_hill/

Just ran across this article over at mfnbc.com this morning.

Lynn Woolsey, a Democratic congresswoman from California, expressed concern that President O'bama might shift his position from "center right" to "far right".

She really, REALLY must not understand.  The fact that she sees O'bama as "center right" is a sure sign that she has not a clue as to why her party got smashed in the recent elections.  Hey, maybe her own constituents think that but of course we are talking California, the state that could only muster Jerry Brown and Meg Whitman as gubanatorial candidates.

I doubt that ANYBODY in the O'bama administration would even try to claim to be anywhere right-of-center at all.

Article goes in with some trash talk about Pelosi being a "counterweight" to any O'bama compromises with the Republicans, but since the GOP has an overwhelming majority of the House, Pelosi will hjave little impact beyond her shrill voice and cadaverous grin.  ::)

only in America could Obama be seen as "liberal"

the Dems lost in the mid-terms because

a) the majority party always loses in the mid-terms
b) a large number of Dems in the southern states were "Blue Dogs" aka Dems in name only, which means when a real Republican came along, out they went
c) HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT

C has more to do it with than anything else.  the fact that it primarily occurred under the reign of King George W doesn't matter, Obama couldn't reverse the trend quick enough and it's his problem now because the American public has a memory span of about 30 seconds.

Left, Center, and Right are devoid of meaning.  Absolutely devoid.  It is the most crude and primitive propaganda jargon.  No matter what politician wins the election, the people lose.  If you saved ten grand on your taxes because of W's tax cuts, I really don't give a crap.  Invest that ten grand in the stock market, you might as well go play poker for the weekend for the amount of good it does for humanity.

Here's the trick: The unaccountable corporations run everything.  The people are allowed token representation in the form of bogus elections.  The big business public relations groups feeding off the money the corporations stole from the people of the world get to represent "what the public thinks."  When a politician even hints at slowing down the tide of fascist ruination kicking the knees out from under the nation state itself -- no longer just the vulnerable citizens of the nation state -- he is attacked as an Extreme Left Commie who wants to seize your bank account and your shotgun.  That's what happened to Obama.  It happened to Clinton too, who turned out to be the best friend the American fascists ever had.

Woolsey is still looking at Left, Center, and Right in 1975 standards.  By those, she is correct.  Obama is further Right than Richard Nixon.  In fact, by 1975 standards, the only people who have a consequential voice in American polity today are the Extreme Right and the Ultra-Right.  However, these labels have been rendered meaningless.

I ain't mad at Wall Street.  What do you expect from a pig but a grunt?  I used to be a "liberal," but the cowardly "liberal" class disgusts me.  They're no count lying sonofabitches.  That's why I don't listen to NPR anymore.  They serve exclusively the interests of the bourgeoisie.  NPR speaks for a different side of the bourgeoisie than FOX News, but it's all lifestyle difference.  NPR = rich metrosexuals for wine-tasting trips in the south of France.  FOX = rich rednecks for NASCAR races in South Carolina.  Both both faux spokesmen for the masses are subsidized by the same corporate paymasters.

Sorry, I'm just feeling grumpy this afternoon!  Mr. Chris Hedges says it better:

Now, if you want to believe Obama stands in favor of the working man and against the vagaries of Wall Street, I would say keep drinking that Kool-Aid...but that stems from another urban myth.  They weren't drinking Kool-Aid at Jonestown.  The were drinking a cheap-o knock off brand called Flavor-Aid laced with cyanide.  Maybe the next Jim Jones will donate that concoction to a worthy cause.  I'd hand it to them there lobbyists on K Street!

I don't think Obama is a commie I just think he is in between being a moderate liberal and an actual liberal. No, I'm not with the extreme right that thinks OBama is a socialist.

Well Obama is to the left of Nixon on moral politics.com.. I think Nixon was pretty much a centrist Republican sort of like Susan Collins would be of Maine right now. I get a kick out of how Democratic Strategists always pull out Nixon's name on how Nixon was so moderate but the Republicans are so conservative now. Nixon was like the most liberal Republican President ever! Then again the conservative wing of the Republican Party didn't become the dominant wing of the Republican Party till like Reagan got elected in 1980. It was pretty much the moderate wing of the party that was dominant from the 50'-70's. I mean Ford, Eisenhower, and Nixon were moderates but still Nixon was the most liberal out of all 3 of them!

NASCAR hasn't been a red-neck sport since like the the mid 1990's.

Woolsey is like her California congress mates living in liberal-land !

Chucky, coorperate america is scared to hire people because they don't know what other regulations by the Obama Administration are going to come next. Obama put the unemployment rate on a foward path. I mean when he first got into the White House the unemployment rate was 8 percent now its like 9.6 percent.

Its not all about the unemployment rate I mean some of his policies people didn't want.

the corporations aren't scared at all.. they just had record profits.  Higher unemployment isn't a bad thing for them at all because they can basically set the price they want for employment (as little as possible).

yes, the rate increased under Obama, but it already was increasing long before he reached office.  the vast majority of people were kicked to the curb before he took office.

I just sat in on a meeting with a group of local businessmen working on a project here in Picksburgh.  The leader of them flat-out stated... "Now that the Dems have been taken from absolute power, I'm ready to launch this project.  I wasn't gonna do ANYTHING till I knew how the elections turned out, because I don't want to start a business that will get regulated to death".

Right or wrong... There are entrepreneurs who see things that way.  And that businessman is - get this - a registered Democrat.

So...you also liked my theory on Bush too? Because that's how I feel about Obama...since Bush was a Repub...I mean...Neo-Con...The Media (That's not named FOX) rips him another asshole, but Obama...the Media LOVES him, even when he takes a sheesh!

Besides, if I got 10 Grand from GWB's Tax Cut...I wouldn't be like the dumbasses who would buy land and make myself secure forever (That's what happened with the Housing Boom and Bust), I would put it in a CD and then I'd be secure when I'm 64! And that reminds me of something!...

It was always likely that this was going to happen - especially given that your wonderfully hypocritical right-wing pundits were blaming Obama for the problems before he even got into power.

You can see for yourself that Obama IS to the right of center.

I REALLY, REALLY wish people will learn their left from their right. (I think I have said that many, many times.)

I've always thought that site has been skewed toward left-libertarianism.  In real world politics, the center would be more to the right economically, and more to the authoritarian side on the other axis.
