Subject: Protesters set for London march against spending cuts

Written By: Philip Eno on 03/26/11 at 1:35 am

People from across the country are converging on London for a march in protest at the coalition government's spending cuts.

The Trades Union Congress predicts more than 100,000 people will join the march, to be policed by 4,500 police.

Some politicians have voiced concerns about possible disorder similar to that seen during tuition fees protests.

But the TUC said it was deploying more than 1,000 stewards to ensure the event remained "family friendly".

TUC general secretary Brendan Barber said those taking part in the March for the Alternative will include community groups, pensioners and public sector workers.

He said they were urging the government to spend more public money - not less - on projects to create jobs and boost the economy, and to crack down on tax evasion and avoidance in order to claw back more for the Treasury.

That's true!

The march is avoiding the Buckingham Palace area, but is still close to it.

The world has been in chaos since 2011 began. Egypt, Libya, Syria, London. All of them have had protests!

It's like people are angry or something, especially at cuts, inflations, their government, etc.

We have even had protests here in Picksburgh.  People are protesting that the Commonwealth has cut its subsidy to the Port Authority of Agony County.  The previous Guv'nor wanted to put an onerous toll on Interstate 80 to give people prop up the busses in Picksburgh, but the O'bama administration (correctly, I might add) said 'no' to that plan.
