A United Nations report said Friday that disconnecting people from the internet is a human rights violation and against international law.  ;D

Do these guys actually think anybody takes them seriously?  The only recognized "international law" is written in the rifling of a gun barrel.

Well maybe the U.N. high commissioner has a point.  If the people are not gonna get clean drinking water or healthcare, then they should at least have the right to go online and watch people light farts on Youtube.  ;D

On the other hand, and with apologies to Max and Cat, the free  exchange of ideas IS a human right, and therefor anytyhing that restricts that free exchange is a violation of human rights

Is access to entire electrical grid a human right?  I mean, if access to the Internet is a human right, it follows...

Like I said.  But I did not say that it should be free, just that access should not (as in China) be restricted
