Subject: Ben Nelson D -Neb to step down

Written By: Don Carlos on 12/28/11 at 11:55 am

Ben Nelson says he will not run for reelection to the senate.  Not much of a lose for Dems, almost as bad as Lieberman

Gotta hate Nelson.  The problem is his seat will probably go Republican next election.

Ah.  Snake-oil salesmen.  Never funded by the government.

Except when it is.

Snake-oil salesmen aren't under the control of the government.  Rather, government regulations on quackery have been purchased by the snake-oil salesmen.  I see NCCAP as a bipartisan problem.  (From the government's perspective, it's something that both wings of the Party can use to get donations, so it's something on which both wings of the Party can agree to support)  Tom Harkin (D-IA) and Dan Burton (R-IN) and Darrel Issa (R-CA) are working for frauds.

Going further off the deep end, Robert Kennedy (D-ynasty) is so wrong that even left-leaning Salon.com redacted his bloviations from its website.  Only to be topped by Michelle Bachmann (R-WTFland), who went so much further off the deep end on anti-vaccination that even the neocons were appalled.

Which party is more anti-science? Both of them.

Often you'll find conservatives oppose science based on religion while liberals oppose science based on contrary science.  The science might be full of holes and errors, mind you, as in vaccinations causing autism, but liberals won't settle for:  Because the Bible says so, that's why.

Exactly.  As Harlan Ellison put it (frequently mis-attributed to Einstein), the two most common elements in the Universe are Hydrogen and Stupidity.  (Frank Zappa one-upped Ellison with "Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.")
