His majesty said "bring your children," so maybe he's toning his act down a bit!

I thought funk died out in the 70's and 80's,I'm glad Prince is bringing the funk back.

Tell it to Tipper Gore!

(She had the hots for Prince in the '80s like the rest of the ladies -- and a sizable portion of the guys too!)

Wake up, the funk/soul, deep funk revival has been going on since the mid 90's. Funk will NEVER die!
Prince ain't bring nothing back that wasn't already there!

I'd list a number of new wave, deep soul/funk revival bands, but if you don't already know...Google "Deep Funk" or "Funk Revival" and see what hits you get.

I personally go to GoodFoot (as in "get on the") at the clubs every 2nd Friday of the month (funk/old school deep funk/r&b, dancing, etc). Check out you local paper, its happening in every city...

It's really just an advertising gimmick. Well I heard on the radio this morning that Chuck Berry will make a one-off performance this Friday near Washington, DC. But does that really mean that old time Rock N' Roll will come back from the dead even? It's important to see these legends before they pass; a good reason why many people aren't paying overpriced tickets for today's Auto-tuned, lip-synching live acts in which a robot would be a better thing to see perform live on stage.

Just look at last week's album charts. Just 70,000 for #1 on the charts!

The world sure could use more funkiness right about now.  :-\\

Prince could never bawl him out for being three measures behind and out of key, because he's Bill Clinton.

Prince could never fire him either, because he's Bill Clinton.

But, oh, that Bill Clinton, he sure is a heck of a fun guy, and he sure loves to blow that horn!

Thus a sit-com was born.

(or at least a sketch on "Family Guy," like the time...)

The radio was playing that at the barber's yesterday.  My initial memory of the song is hearing it at a crumby truckstop on our way to someplace.

When I lived in South Bend Indiana, one of the local stations would bleep out the phrase "white boy" from the chorus.  ;D

They used to bleep Pink Floyd's "Money."

"Don't give me that good-goody-good bull - bleeeep!"

Why So?

"White boy" might be considered racially insensitive.  Indiana also had a long history of Ku Klux Klan activity, which was in living memory in the late 1970s, so maybe Indianans were extra touchy about it...

That's my guess.
