Subject: Ke$ha Hits #12 with "We R who We R"

Written By: LyricBoy on 02/05/11 at 9:05 am

Looks like the Ke$ha pop steam roller just keeps going.

Just saw her latest video for the first time today on the VH1 countdown.  She even has a backup dude doing an autotune bit too.

Could Ke$ha come to own the pop scene of 2011? ???

"We R who We R" was #1 at the hot 100 songs.
Ke$ha will be strong if she releases new album later this year, but she wont "own" it.
The two big rivalry will be between Lady GaGa and Britney Spears who will both release new albums soon.

The new Britney song is weak compared to her previous album.  I am not really impressed.  Lady Gaga's album will be interesting.  Her success with "born this way" will determine whether she really is the next Madonna that everybody is making her out to be.  If it flops, Gaga's future could be in the tabloids.  I have a difficult time believing this electropop fad will last the entire decade.  Dance music fads in the US never usually last more than a 4-5 years.  If this is different, it will be a first in America.

It'll take at least ten years to determine if Lady Gaga will have anything like the impact/success of Madonna.

Wouldn't be surprised if someone else comes out of seemingly nowhere to land hit after hit and none of the "big names" are the story in music for 2011.

I think that Ke$ha fits the bill nicely.  I soon expect to see an onslaught of chicks-with-autotune hitting the airwaves, even more than we see now.  8)

This is another one of those "guilty pleasures". I mean it's freaking catchy, but god her voice is so terrible.
