I'd like to live in the 1960s. Reading about all the social and political movements that occured during that time from a historical viewpoint won't have the same effect as actually observing these things happening all around you.

Right here, right now. 2011 has probably been one of the best years I've had in a long time. If I had to go back I wouldn't want to go back any farther than 2000. The 80s had some great stuff and so did the 90s ( but to a lesser extent the 80s did ) But the stuff I love most all came out of the 21st century.

The 60's did rock. We had the Bay of Pigs, Cuban Missile Crisis, 'Nam, JFK, LBJ, RFK, MLK, the USS Liberty thing, race riots, above-ground nucular testing, the rise of big screen porn, Richard Nixxon elected, you-name-it.  8)

The early-mid 60s, the full 70s, the early-mid 80s and the early-mid 2000s like 2001-2005.

70s or the 90s, in that order. of decades i didn't actually live through already, the 50s and the 20s seemed pretty cool. in general, i'd like to avoid world wars, violent political upheaval, and global economic depressions. also, leg warmers. so sorry, yall, the 80s are very overrated.

The 70's would also be a good decade to live in,the disco shoes the afro hairdos,the parachute pants and alll you need is a disco ball and there you go.

May the late 70's then early 80's just to see MTV air on cable. I would love to party with a white girl from the mid 80's and get a lil freaky with her if you know what I mean. Then I would show the my ipod touch and ppl will think i'm a soviet spy from Russia.lol.But it woild be good times..compared to the (cough) the lame 2010's At least people were much hopeful back then.....i love the 80's even I can't remember the 3 years in it. 8) 8)

If I had to choose just one - 1980s.
Best decade in the history of mankind.

In order:

1. The 90's - I only remember some of the mid 90's and the late 90's, but I want to relive the entire decade right from the beginning. I'd love to experience the early 90's since I have no recollection of it whatsoever.
2. The 80's - I LOVE 80's music (attending a Michael Jackson, Madonna, etc. concert would've made my life!), films, shows and pop culture. Though I'm not a fan of the fashion, it'd be fun to be wearing 80's style clothing on a daily basis. I'd love to have lived/visited NYC in the mid-late 80's!
3. The 70's - I've been watching VH1's I Love the 70's nostalgia show on Youtube and it'd be fun to visit this decade! The music, the pop culture, the fashion, the films, the shows... I would've love to go on Soul Train, haha.
4. The 60's - I'd love to experience the events that changed and made an impact in US history

Honorable mention: The 40's & 50's (though more so the 1950s) - As a film major, I'd love to experience the Golden Age of Hollywood filmmaking and be in Los Angeles at the time to meet the talented actors, directors and producers who dominated that period

Well, pop culture was quite nice in the 30s. I liked the movies and the way they dressed back then! I'm not big on jazz, but it's okay I guess.

Well there are pros and cons regarding the 1920's versus the 1930's:

in the 20's u can drink at any age because the mafia doesn't card but in the 30's they started to care about that stuff. In the 1920's the economy was booming and there were several jobs in fields that made a lot of money. Although movies were silent and you wouldn't be able to take your eyes off the movie screen cuz you needed to pay attention to every detail if the movie is not a "talkie" javascript:void(0);

In the 30's booze is legal and much safer to obtain, not to mention the movies had sound. On the other hand there was a great depression going on in the 30's. javascript:void(0);

Also, if you don't like Jazz (which, at the time, was more popular than rap is today) then these are not the decades for you!  ;)

It's hard for me to fathom living before the 1950's, just going by technology alone. Socially, it's hard for me to imagine living before 1964.

I do jokingly say the 1880's, because I do like the fashion, literature, and architecture of that time. But I know deep down inside I would hate being my race and sexuality at that time.

In NYC at that time, public transport buses weren't really a thing (until 1933). If you wanted public transport, you would use streetcars or the subway and on the subway they used coins not tokens in the 1920s (Tokens would replace coins in 1953).
