Subject: Fear Factor: Going too far?

Written By: AL-B Mk. III on 01/27/12 at 4:34 pm

Today I heard on the radio, and later confirmed on various Internet sources, that after much discussion by network executives, NBC has decided to go ahead and on Monday air an episode of Fear Factor where the contestants will be asked to drink a glass of donkey semen, followed by a chaser of donkey urine.

That's right, folks, our society has devolved to the point where today we have a game show on network television where contestants have the option to drink donkey cum on a dare to win money. Not even Kurt Vonnegut on his worst day could have imagined this.

I've never exactly claimed to be a saint, and those of you who know me know that I can have a rather crude sense of humor, and I certainly don't consider myself someone who's easily offended, but...donkey semen??? I mean, what next...a year from now is Fear Factor going to just skip the cup stage and make the contestants get it straight from the donkey?

Perhaps the world is going to end this year after all.

Or am I just making a big deal out of nothing?  ???

Fear Factor has always been off it's nut... I remember during it's last run they actually put dead rats in a blender and expected the contestants to drink the contents of said blender.... sorry but as broke as I am I just don't need 50K (or whatever the going rate is now)  that badly...

I remember that episode all too well, I was pregnant with Hunter and I actually had to run out of the room and up-chuck.  First and only time something I watched on TV made me puke.

Hey, I don't care if other people do it, I know I wouldn't.

I'd seriously have to think about it... it's not that I couldn't do it...it's just, would I want to?  I think the worst part for me would be trying it, not finishing and then knowing I did something so horrible but having nothing to show for it.  THAT WOULD PISS ME OFF!  >:(

That would be  ... 'done like a donkey'!

Oh .. and yes, it is in poor taste. Additionally, what possible health and safety risk could be attached to drinking such substance (for humans that is)?  Will those women produce future long eared and very stubborn children? ;)

The health & safety question is serious though.... You would want a health certificate produced from tests run on the specific donkey.

I've always been amazed by the things the contestants will do and endure for a lousy 50K. Eating stuff like complete animal eyeballs or testicles...SO not worth it.

Donkey semen is definitely crossing a line for me. Although (the thought of) a dead rat cocktail would also upset my appetite... 8-P

I know some of the things they eat are delicacies in other countries, like balut eggs and the innards of animals and I think fish semen is used in Japanese foods.  I did see an episode of Bizarre Foods where they drank donkey milk.

Never heard of Japanese eating fish gunk before, but you never know.  When I was in Japan they ate all sorts of stuff that would be seen as disgusting to your average American.

Curiously when my Japanese coworkers came to Indiana, we served them up a heaping plate of Rocky Mountain Oysters and they were gobbling them down.  When they asked us what sort of oysters flourished in the high Rocky Mountain region, we explained to them that they are not really "oysters" and what they really are.  They immediately got nauseated and wouldn't touch their plates for the rest of the night.  ;D

Y'know, if we've gotten to point where people can drink donkey semen on national television and it's like, no big deal, then they'd might as well make take the concept of The Human Centipede and turn it into a reality show.

Actually, if they did that using the cast of Jersey Shore I would totally watch it.  ;D

I grew up with a kid named Zekie.  If you dared him to eat something, he would.  He'd eat a cup of squished grasshoppers.  He'd drink a glass of freshly hucked loogies.  Found something rotten in you mom's refrigerator?  Zekie would eat it.  And he would puke.  He'd just shrug and walk away.  Thing is, we didn't test Zekie very much.  Watching him pull one his gastric stunts could put you off your own appetite for a week.  One time Zekie ate four road apples baking on the corner.  Total gross-out!
