Subject: Song Poll: International hits by Canadian Artists

Written By: whistledog on 04/14/12 at 1:43 am

More and more songs by Canadian artists are becoming popular in other parts of the world in the 2010s.  Here is 10 of them at random (none of which are Justin Bieber, even though one could be included) that reached the Top 40 somewhere outside of Canada.  Which one do you like the best?

Chart positions based on: Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Australia and the Netherlands

2010 | Duck Sauce - Barbara Streisand

For this poll, I am voting Nickelback.  I keep hearing that song on the radio, and find myself singing along. Upon first listen, I didn't even know it was Nickelback because it sounded different than their other songs.  I would say it is the best Nickelback song yet

I'll give it a listen, but only because you said it didn't sound like Nickelback.

But for me, it's all about the duck sauce.  That thing's been remixed so many times that hearing the original "DUCK SAUCE" and "BARBRA STREISAND" now comes as an audio surprise.  And it was only after all of that that the Herd showed up, to wit, as of this writing, about 636 results.)

To the tune of The Beloved, Hello (1990):

/Sometimes I feel we must be going mad,
//Barbra Streisand, Charlie Sheen, Boney M, and then came Glee.
///Lyra, Bon-Bon, and Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle, and Pinkie Pie, hello, hello, hello, hello...

'Barbara Streisand' was up for Best Dance Recording at this years Juno Awards (Canada's version of the Grammy), but lost out to a lady named AnJulie and her song Brand New Chick
I can't wait for an actual album from Duck Sauce.
