2011 was all about sequels, which I think people will tend to associate with their original movies in the 00's.

Too soon to tell:
-The Voice
-American Horror Story? If the second season is as acclaimed as the first I think it will be.

And of course a bunch of other shows that were popular in the mid-late 2000s that continued to be popular past 2009.

Let's not forget Nicky Manaj, Colbie Caillat, and Cee-Lo Green. Also Pitbull, Whiz kalifa, and Adam Lavigne.

Rhianna? I never saw the reason for the fuss. Her solo performances are kinda thin.
