What do you guys think of Google Glass? Do you think it will be successful? Will you buy it? Do you think it will be a big part of life in technology in the next few years and the future?

It will first be adopted by nerds.  Kinda like those two kids who wore jock straps on their heads in "Sixteen Candles".

Then you'll see self-important types wearing them like the dudes who wear those Captain Spock Bluetooth earpieces, walk around in circles, and talk to themselves at the airport.  ::)  You know, hollering out commands to their Google glasses whilst refining their next PowerPoint presentation.  8-P

If only Google could come up with "Google Pants", people could then completely isolate themselves from the outside world and via sight, hearing, and touch.  ;D

I think it might work, but wearing them might make you look stupid in the long run!

Google Glass will be successful ... just like the Nintendo Virtual Boy was

The only issue I see with it is the privacy. You never know if someone is recording you or not. I don't see the point of the camera being there. Also voice control is not very reliable and you'll look like a fool at the same time. Then the danger of using it while driving as well. Other than that it looks like a cool device.

You'd be surprised.  It's the same thing as those people who want an Apple iPhone just because it's an iPhone.  It's technology that's talked about and made to look so cool, everyone wants one, even if they don't need one

I think it's very sad Google Glass didn't catch on back then... If it did, we would probably have advanced AR in everyday life today. The world was just not ready for it.  :(

I would rather wear glasses because it would be kind of cool. But I wouldn't want to always wear it just occasionally for fun because I'm a tech head.

Its good it didnt..... It was a spying piece of crap most of us didnt want!!

My boss had one and I played with it for a bit.

It's going to be difficult for smart watches and smart glasses and the like to catch on if they're just going to duplicate what your phone does. They need to do something new. The whole point of a smartphone is that it does everything, if your smart glasses do the same thing (but only 20% of the features of a smartphone) then there is no novelty or compelling reason to buy one. People don't want to carry around more devices.

Here's to hoping augmented reality continues to improve but it's got a long way to go. I don't imagine any wearables becoming popular before the 2030s in all honesty.
