I know.  That kiss that happened at the MTV awards between her and Madonna.  They did that just to spark a reaction out of him.  :(

That song was everywhere back in 2013-14. I'm kinda glad it's gone, unless somebody thinks it's worth nostalgia, despite being 3 years old.

Unfortunately the winter of 2013 was awful. Horrible way to start the year. It's honestly kind of a miracle to see just how much things improved in 2013. April 2013-onwards was so much better! Here is a short list of the worst songs from 2013:

Thrift Shop - Macklemore insanely irritating music, lyrics, and vocals. I can't believe I bought this song without previewing it!
Blurred Lines - Robin Thicke derogatory lyrics and video, song itself not that catchy either *facepalm*
Harlem Shake - Baauer wait, is this music?
Can't Hold Us - Macklemore more irritating, holier-than-thou pacific northwest attitude mindsets that Macklemore brings to the table
Cruise - Florida Georgia Line this isn't even real country.
Ho Hey - The Lumineers  8-P
Cups - Anna Kendrick based entirely on memes
Holy Grail - Jay Z I seriously don't get the praise for this song. It isn't particularly "musical".
Scream & Shout - will.i.am. awful breakdown, not to mention terrible lyrics

Those are the worst songs of the top 30 of the 2013 Billboard Hot 100 year end charts. Music got a lot better around April.

"Wings" is a song by English musician Birdy. The song was released as a digital download on 29 July 2013 and in the United Kingdom on 8 September 2013 as the lead single from her second studio album, Fire Within (2013). In 2015, it was also used as the soundtrack of the Lloyds Horse Story 250 year anniversary advert, resulting in its return to the UK Singles Chart, reaching a new peak of number 8.

"Blurred Lines" is a single written and performed by American recording artists Robin Thicke, T.I., and Pharrell Williams. Produced by Pharrell, it serves as the lead single from Thicke's album of the same name. It was released on March 26, 2013 through Pharrell's label Star Trak Recordings. Recorded in 2012, the song was primarily inspired by the Marvin Gaye song "Got to Give It Up", and apart from T.I.'s rap was entirely the work of Williams. However, Thicke clearly laid claim to writing credits on the track according to a Reuters article. The song became the subject of a bitter legal dispute with the family of Gaye and Bridgeport Music as to whether the song infringed copyrights to "Got to Give It Up". Thicke and Williams were found liable for copyright infringement by a federal jury in March 2015, and Gaye was awarded posthumous songwriting credit based on the royalties pledged to his estate.

"I Swear" is a ballad written by Gary Baker and Frank J. Myers that became a hit for two acts in 1994. The song was performed by the Minions in a wedding scene between Gru (the movie's main character) and Lucy (his partner in a case investigation) in the 2013 animated film "Despicable Me 2" (humorously but deliberately sung as "Underwear") and its soundtrack.

2013 was the absolute BEST year for music by far in the 2010s, no question about it. 2013 is also my favourite year of the 2010s. Eminem released his new album this year, Macklemore was huge this year, we had some cool retro disco songs, good upbeat pop songs as well. Blurred Lines is not the best song lyrically but man it was catchy and you heard this tune everywhere during the summer. Justin Timberlake made his comeback and released his 20/20 album. It was also the first year we took a break from that horrible electro-pop style that dominated from 2009-2012. Man I miss this year, musically it had so much variety and it was a breath of fresh air.

Time to update this thread and give it a more Southern Euro flair lol.
Along with the many British, US and few Canadian artists that ruled the Bulgarian charts back in 2013, we had some top hits of our own, mostly from X factor contestants.

Our own take at Justin Bieber:

I'd say not bad, not bad at all!

Also this was a huge hit. I love her feminine voice:

A bonus: the 2012 hit of the second guy mentioned in my previous thread. It sounds more western as he's singing in English. Was also big on radio in 2013. Typical early 2010's, too bad we're a small country and our artists cannot make it internationally big. A cameo by Simon Cowell

One song that was not big here was Cups by Anna Kendrick and thank god, it's the worst song of the year imo. Her singing in this song is kinda whiny, like some country singers.
But let's focus on what I like. Another huge hit in Bulgaria in 2013 I almost forgot and which was all over the place in the summer of 2013:

"Let It Go" is a song from Disney's 2013 animated feature film Frozen, whose music and lyrics were composed by husband-and-wife songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The song was performed in its original show-tune version in the film by American actress and singer Idina Menzel in her vocal role as Queen Elsa. "Let It Go" reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and won both the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2014 and the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media in 2015.
