Subject: Chris Pine to join Wonder Woman

Star Trek actor Chris Pine is in talks to star alongside Gal Gadot in the upcoming Wonder Woman film.

Pine would play love interest Steve Trevor in the origin movie, telling the back story of the Amazon warrior princess.

In the comics, Trevor was in the US Army whose plane crashed on Paradise Island - the isolated homeland of the Amazons - during World War II.

He was nursed back to health by Diana, who fell in love with him and followed him when he returned to the outside world. There she became Wonder Woman.

Gadot will first be seen as the heroine in next year's Batman v Superman. Her own film is not due for release until 2017.
