Ed Sheeran's music videos have been streamed in the Philippines more than 178 million times since September 2014.

Who knew? Well, YouTube did. And thanks to its new analytics tool, you too can find some surprising secrets about the world's most popular musicians.

Turns out, for instance, that Katy Perry is more popular in Mexico City than anywhere in the United States.

Ed Sheeran is IMO the best male British singer/songwriter to reach the North American chart since James Blunt.
'Sing' and 'Thinking Out Loud' are on the radio all the time, and I know for years to come, we will still continue to hear them

Ed Sheeran's new singles Shape of You and Castle On The Hill have entered the UK singles chart at number one and number two respectively.
The Official Charts Company says it is the first time in history an artist has taken the top two chart positions with brand new songs.
The singer said he was "incredibly chuffed" by the success.
"Both tracks mean a huge amount to me so it really is amazing to see them go to the top of the chart together."

I'll be surprised if he doesn't get sued for Shape of You. It's terribly close to plagiarizing Cheap Thrills.

edit: fail. I looked it up and Sia wrote both songs. Makes sense now. xD

I liked Thinking Out Loud but you have to be an idiot or blind and deaf not to think Sheeran didn't rip off Let's Get It On. How he hasn't paid these guys yet is ridiculous.

I liked "Thinking Out Loud" when it first came out but it's been overplayed so much.  I bet it was "the" song for every high school prom in 2015 (like teenagers are really going to be with their prom dates until they are 70...come on!).

Game of Thrones producers have confirmed Ed Sheeran will make a cameo appearance in the seventh series of the show.
Speaking at the SXSW film festival in Texas, David Benioff and Dan Weiss said they'd been trying to book him for a while.
Ed also confirmed the news as reports started to appear online by tweeting "guess the cat's out the bag".
It's not clear what role he'll have in the show.

When I was driving Ed Sheeran's song Shape of You was on the radio and when it finished I switched to another radio station and the exact same song started playing on the other station. I finish the song and switch back to the original station, go do some groceries, come back to my car and Ed Sheeran is on again singing the same song.  ;D

Maybe you have a dedicated stalker who's calling up and dedicating the song to you on multiple stations.  :-[

The latest move comes after he had a brief cameo appearance on Game of Thrones, which was seriously mocked by some fans. He's also announced that he's going to appear in an upcoming episode of The Simpsons.

Because he's like the biggest star in the world right now and considering he's not known for acting, featuring him in Game of Thrones seems like a ratings ploy to a lot of television audiences, regardless of how objectively harmless his performance is.

I would like Ed Sheeran more if the radio didn't ridiculously overplay every single he puts out.  Songs like "Thinking Out Loud", "Shape of You", "The A Team", and "Lego House" are good songs and I liked them before they were played into the ground.  At this point though I don't want to hear any of those songs even one more time.

Ed Sheeran says he's stopped worrying about his weight after feeling pressure to slim down early in his career. At one point, he started a strict diet after comparing his body image unfavourably to "people like Justin Bieber or the One Direction lot". "I was like, 'they're so photogenic and they've got six packs... and I should look like that,'" he said. "But should I actually care if I'm fat or not? No-one's bought my records based on me looking a certain way." The star was speaking on a new podcast by fellow musician George Ezra.
