Subject: Windows 10

Written By: Slim95 on 07/29/15 at 12:08 pm

Windows 10 has been officially released today. Who upgraded? I think it is a lot better than Windows 8.  I can see Windows 10 sticking around for a long time and becoming the new XP and 7.

On this computer & my laptop (both has Windows 7), we can upgrade to Windows 10 for free.  :o :o :o  I am very cautious about it. I know that Windows 8 sucked and I don't know how Windows 10 will be.

Keep in mind, every other Windows was good. ME sucked. XP good. Vista sucked. 7 good. 8 sucked. 10 ???

10 is similar to Windows 7 but much faster and more stable. The start menu is back and everything is clean and working great. I got the upgrade last night.

I'm going to wait a while and let the bugs be worked out then will probably upgrade.  7 is good enough that I don't see a real reason to rush into it.  If I was using 8, I would upgrade immediately.  It's an echo of how 7 was an absolutely necessary upgrade the day it was released for Vista users but XP users could hang on a bit longer if they wanted to.

My laptop (which I am currently using) has Windows 7, but I haven't wanted to upgrade to 10 yet. Like you, I am also being very cautious about it. Seven is working fine for me right now, except for when the machine begins to freeze when I go to certain sites.

For some inexplicable reason, I was no longer able to browse the internet and/or use the pictograms on my screen (at least not those that held shortcuts to my favorite websites, such as this one). I kept getting the same message: "Class Is Not Registered". The solutions offered by Microsoft (a thorough double scan of the entire system) did not help. Apparently, one or more files were corrupted beyond repair. So I asked for advice at a computer store. Their answer: start from scratch with Windows 10.

End of story: I bought a new desktop that runs on Windows 8.1. And it's working.
