Subject: Supertramp cancel European tour

Written By: Philip Eno on 08/05/15 at 10:29 am

Rock band Supertramp - known for such as singles The Logical Song and It's Raining Again - have cancelled their European tour after founding member Rick Davies was diagnosed with cancer.

"I was really looking forward to returning to Europe and playing with the band again and I'm sorry to disappoint everyone," said the 71-year-old in a statement.

"Unfortunately my current health issues have derailed me and right now I need to focus all of my energy on getting well."

The Swindon-born singer (pictured above, second from the left) will undergo "aggressive treatment" for "multiple myeloma", the statement went on.

Dates in 25 European cities are affected, including a concert at London's O2 arena on 7 December. Fans should contact their local venue for refunds.
