Subject: Comedian Lee Nelson 'wanted by Swiss police'

Written By: Philip Eno on 08/06/15 at 5:21 am

Comedian Simon Brodkin has been talking to BBC Breakfast about the two high-profile stunts he pulled off this summer - invading Kanye West's stage at Glastonbury (above), and showering Sepp Blatter with bank notes during a Fifa news conference (below).

Brodkin - known to some as Lee Nelson - said he had been allowed onto Glasto's Pyramid Stage without a pass on 27 June because he had the US rapper's "attitude and swagger".

"If you act like you're meant to be there, they let you in," he told the BBC's Colin Paterson.

Brodkin also said it had been his own money - $600 in $1 denominations - he flung at Blatter in Zurich on 20 July, a stunt for which he has now been charged by Swiss authorities.

"I am wanted by Swiss police, so we'll see what happens," the 37-year-old said on Thursday.

"It'll be quite ironic if I'm the first person to go to prison for what goes on at Fifa HQ."

Brodkin was speaking at the Edinburgh Festival, where he is performing in the guise of his Lee Nelson character.
