I have trouble imagining a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 2016.  The original show was so utterly early 90s that any update at this point would probably be unfaithful to its older counterpart.

They did it with Girl Meets World (spin-off to Boy Meets World). Then I hear about an announcement of a full house reboot, but now I hearing about a Fresh Prince of Bel Air reboot... Hahaha hell no I don't think so. The cultural time these original shows were in its prime have long past now.

They remade 90210 for this generation, its success didn't last long.

I'm excited! I love that show, so I hope they can do it justice!

I think it could work but who will portray James Avery, He died almost 2 years ago.

They're rebooting and remaking almost every 90's show ever possible that was seen 20 years ago.

I wouldn't care about watching this reboot, only because it will have stupid pop cultural references from the 2010s.

Agree.

I understand '90s nostalgia but some things should be left in the '90s.  This is one of them.

Like the saying goes "If it's not broken, don't fix it". ::)

Yeah, sadly, hardcore 90s kids want that to be revived. Unless it just puts in terrible 2010s pop cultural references, so they can modernize the show for the younger generation. I hope this reboot only gets one season aired.

Computer generated graphics, or animatronics.

Computer generated graphics, or animatronics.

Or they would probably get another actor who similarly looks like James Avery.

In 2015 you never know what they could do in today's world of technology.

Kevin Chamberlin from The Disney Channel's Jessie, bears a striking resemblance to the Shred-- er, I mean James Avery.

The bad news is he's white.

That being said, how's this gonna work? Rap isn't really that big anymore (Straight Outta Compton biopic notwithstanding), compared to the 90s (Tupac, Biggie, Puff Daddy, Coolio, Snoop) and 2000s (The "Hot in Herre" decade). Kids today probably think rap is something you do to presents.

The concept would have to be flipped, turned upside down in order to work in 2016, unless it's a period piece...

Edit to add:...or a self-aware satire a la The Brady Bunch movies.

I agree the 90s and 2000s were the epitome of my people's(African American) culture!! It's kind of died in the last few years!!

Latin rap and country rap are taking over this genre now.

They would have to do a lot of dyeing.
