Subject: London Film Festival line-up

Written By: Philip Eno on 09/01/15 at 6:16 am

Already announced Suffragette (starring Meryl Streep), Carol (Cate Blanchett) and Steve Jobs (Michael Fassbender) would lead the field at next month's London Film Festival. Now, the full programme has announced some other gems.

They include Trumbo, starring Bryan Cranston as Dalton Trumbo, the Hollywood screenwriter who was blacklisted after refusing to testify before the House Committee on Un-American Activities in 1947. The film also stars Diane Lane, Helen Mirren, Elle Fanning, Louis CK and John Goodman.

Scott Cooper will be bringing his chilling crime drama Black Mass to the festival, starring Johnny Depp, Benedict Cumberbatch and Joel Edgerton.

And Nicholas Hytner's The Lady in the Van, adapted from writer Alan Bennett's play, will also feature, starring Maggie Smith, Alex Jennings, Jim Broadbent, Frances De La Tour and Roger Allam.

A David Bowie documentary will also premiere - Let's Dance: Bowie Down Under explores for the first time the story behind Let's Dance, and how the birth of MTV, and an unlikely journey deep into the Australian outback, led to its success.
