Subject: Vh1 cancels all music video programming (RIP 1985-2015)

Written By: the2001 on 12/29/15 at 11:32 am

First they cancel the TOP 20 countdown

The series finale aired on November 28th, 2015, with the last number one on the show belonging to Drake's "Hotline Bling". The shows's cancellation was on December 5, 2015, making it the longest running countdown series of all time (21 years).

Now they have removed all music videos from the morning programming.

It is really sad. BET, basically MTV and now VH1. That shows you how important extended cable is now. MTV3 is the best thing you can have as far as music videos.

First MTV and VH1, this is why no one watches these stations any longer. All these reality programs have become unwatchable.

It's understandable.

VH1 had to make more room for Blaxploitation and naked dating shows.  ;D

The one channel that actually had videos is done too? What's next no more vh1 classic? Mtv2 is a crapfest. They have some edm videos late at night but that's about it. Really all the ones vh1 has been playing for years are not my cup of tea anyway. But its just so sad. But classic I watch from time to time so here's hoping that one keeps it going. Fuse plays some but its a harder channel to have access too. Honestly I would much rather have Much Music from Canada. From what I've watched of it even the non music stuff is okay.

Looks like you have to listen to music again without ever seeing a music video.

There's always YouTube and internet radio if I want to listen to some nostalgia.

I guess the VH stands for VERY HIDEOUS now since their programming is about to go to hell.  8-P

*watching 3T on Youtube.*

Truly an end of times!  :\'( I haven't watched music videos on TV in years, but I look fondly back on the days I did. I remember when VH1 had a 4th of July countdown of videos from artists A to Z and I looked forward to binge watching it! But YouTube has made it convenient.

Well then, I guess MTV and VH1 aren't really music channels anymore. This year would possibly the worst for them, since they just got rid of sheesh that was definitive for them.

This is why YouTube was created just to watch old school music videos.

Well yeah. But people have been watching old school music videos there, since the late 2000s.

Anything that VH1 has is dead, so they probably thought that airing a show from the early 90s would be okay to their long lost fans. But I don't think a lot of them care about the channel anymore.

The only redeeming thing about that SBtB episode is that it starred Elizabeth Berkley right before she did that porno flic.

I guess she wanted more acting jobs after the show ended, and erotic flicks were the thing in mind to her. But to hell if I know, I never really cared SBTB.
