20-16 (Twenty Sixteen). A bit weird to say the whole thing. Although by 2020 it's predicted that most would just say "Twenty Twenty" instead of "Two Thousand Twenty".

After 2009, I say Twenty-whatever. Twenty-sixteen for me.

2000-2009: Two-Thousand and

2010-2099: Twenty-

2000-2009: Two-Thousand and

2010-2099: Twenty-

I will admit that due to saying "Twenty-" so often that even with the 2000s I would say it like that. For example instead of saying "Two Thousand and six" I'd sometimes end up saying "Twenty oh six". Like how for the year 1905 people would say "Nineteen oh five".

Does that ever trip anyone up?  ;D if someone said "Twenty oh six" to me I think I'd have to pause and think.

It does at times. They would sometimes goes "wait what year?". Then after a few seconds they'll understand what year I mentioned.  ;) The only year that I constantly refer to as "Two-Thousand" is the year 2000 itself. Although I do call it Y2K at times. But everything else after 2000 I'd sometimes refer to as "Twenty oh one " or "Twenty oh nine ".

I would say twenty sixteen, because that's what they say on television; in my native language it would be two thousand sixteen though; anyone saying twenty sixteen would be very weird here.

In French you would say 1994 like "One thousand nine hundred and ninety four"  ;D

I've heard news anchors sometimes say twenty then the year from 2000-2009 like "twenty oh 6". It's odd but I've heard it. I always say Twenty-whatever for years 2010 and after.

The number reads at 20-16. So I read it as I see it. Twenty-sixteen.

One funny thing I noticed was that I had a tendency last year to say every year of the 10s as twenty except 2011 in which I would say two thousand-. Lately it feels natural to say twenty-eleven, leading me to believe we pronounce years as we hear them most often, even if subconsciously.

16' Straight up

I actually don't hear abbreviations in everyday speech for 2010s years like for the 90s or even the 00s.

Like I said before

From 2000-2009, everybody said two thousand....

Since 2010-present, everybody says twenty....

It's not hard at all unless you've been lost somewhere for 6 years straight.

Not quite as I'm still hearing two thousand far too often. I've paid attention since mid-last year and can say that the divide was almost 50/50.

If we had a poll on this topic, we would know.

From 2011 onward I mostly heard "Twenty-" than "Two thousand and". Maybe it's just the areas we live in or something. For me it's been a 70/30 split. But hey who knows. I can only judge things from my own area that I live in.

With it being a leap year we have an extra day this year to discuss this.

Discussing topics on the 29th is bad. There is curse that will effect anyone who dares to show up on the 29th.

That wink you added in the end there makes this sentence very suggestive.
