Subject: NY Philharmonic announces new music director

The New York Philharmonic orchestra has announced that Dutch conductor Jaap van Zweden will become their next music director.

He will serve as Music Director Designate for the 2017–18 season and take up the post officially in 2018–19.

Van Zweden is currently music director of both the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
