If it's gonna be a good remake then they have to bring on Adam Sandler.

Hollywood need to get out of the habit of remaking/rebooting/sequeling/prequeling everything single thing. Especially since they usually suck 99% of the time.

Their remakes (especially this year) are the reason why 2016 sucks so hard.

Yet  Hollywood refuses to understand this. Now just to sit back and watch the failure box office and critical reception come around.

Yeah, I guess it's kind of annoying, but I need my (doesn't have to be a movie though, I love the novels and video games too) Star Wars! Although, yes, they do overdo it. I only watch movies that feel unique to me now (besides the stuff I grew up with).

C'mon movie industry! Take a look back at what 2012 and 2013 gave us in the box office. So many fresh off original movies gotta get back to the creativity again!  :P

Yeah, 2012 was really great towards movies. It didn't really had a lot of people getting pissed over anything.

The fifth film of the Jason Bourne series released this year, was superb, and stood up well as a stand alone film.

I'd like to see that. Dan Monahan (Pee Wee), Tony Ganios (Meat), Kaki Hunter (Wendy), Kim Cattrall (Lassie), Scott Columby (Schwartz), and Roger Wilson (Mickey) are all still kicking.

However, Wyatt Knight (Tommy Turner), Chuck Mitchell (Porky), Eric Christmas (Principal Carter), and Nancy Parsons (Beulah Balbricker) have passed away, and I do not know who could reprise their roles.  :-\\

Heck even 2015/2016 are examples. Look at how well the original movies do when compared to the remakes/reboot movies. Hollywood Movie industry is full of incompetent hacks.

I'm gonna join the movie industry and create the movie that I'll call "Movie" (it's creative in an ironic sort of way). Watch that box office success come rolling in. 8)

Part of the tent-pole flick phenomenon? That is,

Increasing amounts of credit created globally coupled with greater desire by investors to make greater returns on their investment has led to the drive to create tent-pole flicks, or very expensive movies that have to make a lot and thus keep studios afloat. Hence, tent-poles.

Since it's not enough to sell domestically, it has to reach a global audience. Hence, A-listers and/or lots of CGI, an emphasis on simple storytelling so that films translate across several cultures, a large marketing budget, young actors and PG ratings to achieve the sweet spot (except for family-oriented ones targeted for particular seasons), remakes, reboots, sequels, and prequels so that audiences can recognize what's shown and come back for more, etc.

Also, the latter allows for faster development time, especially when franchises compete with other franchises, and given high ticket prices.

More can be made through spin-offs, merchandising, etc.

This explains why releases during the past two decades have looked relatively the same, with an emphasis on sci-fi, fantasy, war, super hero movies, etc. The same can be seen with video games.

At some point, the industry may fall apart:

How about remaking The Breakfast Club and call themselves "The Dinner Club", have all the old school casting, they're older now and they're still in the classroom like they were 30 years ago, reminiscing about the good old days.

Except for student Bender (the Judd Nelson character). Principal Vernon sent him to detention "for the rest of his natural born life". So Bender would still be sitting in that room.

Molly Ringwald could be cast dropping him off and picking him up in the parking lot.
