Really? I have only heard "Millennial" being said. 2 presenters were saying teen and internet slang from today (like fleek, bae, lit, etc) and said that they were trying to be cool with the "Millennials". They are speaking to a group of mostly 13-19 year old girls :o.

It's a placeholder. A name still hasn't been settled on. "Gen Z" isn't descriptive enough, and comes off as very lazy. Besides, what happens when the generation after that comes along (it'll happen faster than you think) and they've run out of alphabet? Do they start all over again with "Generation A"?

Why so many letters? Lol.

They should be given a name instead of just Z. Maybe...generation Zamralight. It sounds more appropriate.

Digital Natives aka Gen Z.  First generation born in the 21st-century.

I thought they were called Homelanders?

I agree with this, like "Gen Z" is an extension of "Gen Y"(remember when Millennials were called this in the '90s), only younger.

By it's definition Millennials are people born from the early 1980s to the early 2000s, most teens are in the younger part of the Millennial Generation, Gen Z terminology is ridiculous and won't last.

Homelanders is too America-centric and has fallen out of favor in the years since 9/11.  Gen Z, Plurals, or Digital Natives are all more fitting.

They might be going by the un-controversial definition of 1982-2000 for millennials. So, the presenters refer to teens as both Gen Z and Millennials, because they both are teens, by the definition they're using (17-19 year olds are still teens aren't they?).

Yeah but the audience was mostly 13-16 year old girls.
