I'm talking about when the time comes that a kid looks at say an iPhone X and goes "Wow, this looks so old." It's hard to even imagine that it will more than likely happen. ;D

I can probably imagine in about 10 years from now today's smartphones will be seen as ancient. :P

I think the upgrades are almost every two years.

Not very long. This is evident when looking at phones from just 4 years ago, a lot of them look dated with the bezels on them and how thick they are. Tech moves very fast. My guess would be around 2021 is when the phones of today will look truly dated.

Not more thank likely, it WILL happen lol. The Samsung Galaxy S5 already looks dated and that only came out in 2014.

As long as it takes to be more than a couple generations behind the newest model. Probably no more than a few years. It's fascinating how many variations there have been on an otherwise basic-seeming design.

In a few years. If you think about it, the iPhone 4/5, the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2 are already dated.
The iPhone 7 already seems old so that I would say next year lol
Not even! Some people still have an iPhone 7.

This is so true. Look at Apple. They released the iPhone 8, then a few months later, they released the iPhone X (aka iPhone 10). Cellphones come out so fast, the moment you buy the latest one, a better one is out next week. It's crazy lol

You know how like people nowadays see flip phones as really old? I was wondering when today's iPhones would be seen like that, like if something came out that replaced today's smartphones and got really popular to the point where it makes the iPhones of today look more like iStones.

The first two or three iterations of the iPhone look like the iStone by today's standards. I remember when Nokia tried breaking into the smartphone industry with Symbian too. Now those look like iStones!
