Subject: The vibe of late 2018 at the moment

Written By: John Titor on 09/15/18 at 7:07 pm

So far it feels like nature and the future at the same time , also has hints of the main 2010s culture fading , it just feels like this new vibe

Honestly I don't really feel like much has changed since the beginning of this year.

It's pretty clear at this point people are desperately trying to shoehorn this "2010s culture fading away" statement, because "that's what happened in 2008 with the 2000s yada yada" ::)

There's barely any difference to when 2018 started, with imo only music being less interesting that it was in early-mid 2018. Otherwise it's the same exact same culture of movies, series and social media, with only new releases and challenges contributing to that exact same culture.
Fashion is barely different to what it was in the mid-2010s, design-wise minimalism and flat still reign supreme. Politically I don't think there's any difference to how it was in late 2017? Economy-wise, in the continuation of 2017 while being a little more solid in most Western countries.

tl;dr 2018 is still a complete continuation of 2017 meaning we're solidly in a "late-2010s culture".

Color has been back since late 2016-early 17 Skinny jeans for women are being phased out right now.
Dad shoes have been riding since 2017
Tiny sunglasses have been big
The whole YEEZY military thing is done, the look of Yeezy Season 6 was more colorful compared to the beige and greys of season 1& 2 (2015)

And before you say thats only on runways, stores like H&M and ZARA steal the designs that are on the high shows, anything you see in Vogue
will be scaled down and mass marketing on a watered down version to the masses in h&M & Zara. Thats why like in 2013 2014 you saw Zara stores
carry Zipper pants and Zipper Sneakers, because Zippers were huge with YSL in 2013,  these stores just copy whatever the high brands are doing and
market it for low budgets.  2013,2014 and 2015 were all about fake leather/pleather looking things, leather jackets, Jeans with the rip in the knees.
The YSL look, while also having a military beige, grey washed out look due to Yeezy Season 1 & 2 by Kanye West. So many stores copies that look with
the shirts with the rips in it.

The only thing still minimalism design wise is APPLE & Microsoft products, you still have a few logos that are flat like Spotify and what not tho.
Also some commercials still use the minimalism design as well.
