Subject: Signs your Mall is dead in 2018

Written By: John Titor on 09/25/18 at 12:46 pm

I am making a check list of signs that will be able to make you decipher if your mall is dead.

. Your CVS is gone
. Long hallways with no stores
. No Starbucks
.  No name stores
. Tattoo parlor
. no  Gamestop

How does a tattoo parlor signify that one's mall is dead?

One sure sign in a shopping mall near me, not many people shopping in the stores. The other mall is far superior in the shops on offer.

A lot of stores probably have gone out of business or just went bankrupt.

Signs you're at a dead mall

The stores that you loved to shop at have either left the mall or they no longer exist.
Only older going there
Kids are only there because of the mall theatre
New changes to the mall that were supposed to be started over a year ago are slow to start
People just don't want to go to the mall for whatever reason?

Yeah, there was a news article about how not-dead it was a few months ago  ;D

https://www.thestar.com/business/2018/06/18/to-generate-some-buzz-gta-malls-are-breaking-out-in-hives.html

Hillcrest is my local mall, but I've been shopping at Vaughan Mills since I moved here in 2011 since it was way better (I believe it is one of the top 10 busiest malls on the continent). But in the last year or so, Hillcrest has really stepped it up. When Target left in 2015 and Canada fell into recession at the same time, I thought that mall was finished for sure. But it made a remarkable turnaround.

When Spencer's Gifts is gone, it may be time to play taps and pull the plug. I went to our mall one weekend, and it felt like a Wednesday morning in the '90s. The crowd was sparse, and most of my fave stores were gone. Now, Sears, one of the anchor stores, closed, so I'm glad that I was around for the malls' glory days.

Usually the big malls with tons of name stores that most people can recognize are the ones that are still active. They're not just alive, they're are MORE than alive. I live close to the Florida Mall in Orlando and I couldn't even find a parking while cars over their are roaming around for parking. It's real crazy.

If you ever decide to visit Portland Oregon, I’d advise you guys to visit Lloyd Center Mall because the mall itself is beautiful and they just got done rebuilding the whole mall not too long ago, but they took down some stores and also Clackamas Town Center also has a beautiful mall too. I don’t wanna go further into the details on what’s inside those two malls;D

I think I went to that mall when I went to Orlando in 2015. I had to dodge hipsters on their hoverboards.

The mall I frequent is far from dead.  It has many chain stores including an EB Games (Game Stop), Toys R Us, Sunrise Records and the last remaining Sam the Record Man store.  I shop there often, and I will keep going there until the day they close (which I hope is never)

It is indeed.  The news of Toys R Us closing was so big, the ones in Canada had to put signs in their windows letting customers know it is only the ones in the United States that were going under
