Subject: Have we reached the peak of 2010s culture yet?

Written By: 1997days on 01/08/19 at 8:39 am

It seems as if the 2010s have been going on forever but I know it's the late 10 so the question I really should be asking is has the late 2010s reached it's peak yet. :)

Politically, I think the vibe or the stereotype of the 2010s being very liberal is or has come to an end with the Trump administration, and with the election of certain leaders in places like Italy and Brazil. Culturally, I think we still may be there in terms of the fashion at least, but I'd say 2015 has been the peak of the 2010s. The music has changed slightly since around 2015 or 2016 but I pay attention to that the least.

2015 was the peak of the regular 2010s culture

- Most liberal nation
- Hipster at its peak
- Hipster type hangs outs at its peak
-Instagram at its peak
-Social media at its peak
- Peak of Dystopian tv shows and movies
- Slang like On Fleek
- No SJW backlash just yet
- Peak Tinder culture
- Peak online dating culture

Since 2016 & on Hipster culture has declined,  Social media usage has gone 7% for the first time in a decade, Trump is the president, there is SJW backlash, Scary movies now take a more comedy tone similar to the 80s, Sitcoms are back, Dystopian tv shows are on the back burner, apps like Tinder and Okcupid have declined, Tinder even is rebranding. Fashion is more baggy now, the change started in 2016.

2016 was the year where the change happened, depending on where you lived you would not see much change until Summer 2017.

Come and gone. I’d say 2012 to 2016 was the peak.

I agree with this even tho I believe 2017 marked the end of 2010s peak.
